  1. Hi Folks, I would like to introduce to all the website of our research group 'Perception and Simulation of Intelligent Bahaviour Research Group' in Multimedia University in Malaysia. We specialize in the field of neural networks, artificial intelligence, data mining and music intelligence. We welcome new ideas and insights from others in the same field especially in those area of interest. The URL is: http://www.psig.mmu.edu.my We hold talks and we have a small list of publications. The group is still young, formed just in last year 2005. But we would appreciate very much to be able to be part of a larger international community in Artificial Intelligenc…

In my recent work, I have developed a new perspective on the Boolean satisfiability problem (SAT), focusing particularly on formulas in Conjunctive Normal Form (CNF). This exploration introduces a classification of SAT subproblems based on the nature of the literals within the clauses, and a novel concept called saturation as a measure of contradiction. Below, I will provide an overview of this approach and highlight its key implications for SAT complexity and algorithmic design. 1. Classification of Clauses I categorize the clauses of a CNF formula into three distinct types: P: Clauses containing only positive literals. N: Clauses containing only negative literal…

    1) In the second attempt towards Dekker's algorithm, is starvation possible? If there are two processes and one processor and both processes want to enter the critical section, show how one of the processes could continually enter the critical section while the other is kept out. 2) In Peterson's Algorithm, if both processes want to enter the critical section, what keeps starvation from occuring?

I need help with the following true or false questions: 1.The Intersection of two context-free languages is recursive. 2.For an arbitrary regular language L, the set of all strings in L that have even length forms a language that is not recursive. 3. If L is accepted by a PDA then L is accepted by a PDA that has no compatible transitions. For clarification purposes, recursive means a that a turing machine can decide the language. Recursive enumerable means that a turing machine can recognize the language. PDA = push down automaton. Here's what i think: 1. false, since the intersection of 2 context free languages is not necessarily context free since CFLs are…

  13. When I go to the website arin.net, and I do a Whois query in the top right-hand corner on google.com, why does it return two results? The only difference is the handle number, but everything else is the same. I've been tasked with finding out what the difference is between the two, or more appropriately, why two results are returned. Can anyone help?

Need a background information section on this kind of information -semi conductors material --> and how its used to build microchips -programming in general -p…

I am not a computer science student, but I am attempting to write some code to carry out the voronoi construction for my research. The one thing I don't understand involves creating the binary tree to store the arcs along the beach front. The problem is that each internal node can be used to represent the breakpoint between two parabolas, BUT parabolas generally intersect at TWO points, not one! I don't know which point to use for the breakpoint. So I am having a difficulty resolving this situation, perhaps I am overlooking something simple. If anyone can offer some clarification on this point, I would appreciate it, thanks.

I know a lot about how to set up and maintain firewalls, i know their features etc but do not know a lot about how exactly they work. there are two types of firewall: Hardware and Software firewalls. Hardware: these are basic firewalls which block out any unrequested packets. Software: a software firewall is what is essential for ALL computers connected to the internet (that is assuming you do not wish to be hacked), software firewalls do the same job as a hardware firewall + more. It is this "+ more" which means that a hardware firewall (often found in servers/routers) are not really adequate for your main firewall... i tend to think of it this way: 'har…

British artificial intelligence researcher Paul Almond has a new on-line interview available, in which he says: "We had optimistic expectations about when true intelligence or sentience would be achieved in artificial devices, but I think that it is possible. Intelligent machines already exist -- ourselves. The fact that matter can naturally come together to make things like humans that think shows that the process can be replicated. Of course, people argue against this. Some people say we have some kind of “immaterial” or “supernatural” soul. I think that is an incoherent concept. Roger Penrose and John Searle both argue against artificial intelligence using compu…
