This could be a breakthrough in neuroscience as pills are used 💊 and then it has a knock on effect with the brain. The placebo effect generates the mind completely. https://www.forbes.com/sites/nicolesilver/2022/02/17/accessing-the-power-of-your-mind-placebo-effect-and-law-of-attraction/ This article above states I quote ‘What happens with the placebo effect is that the brain anticipates an outcome.’ Then the very same article above states I quote ‘The mind then communicates to the body the anticipated outcome and prepares the body for healing.’ Next, the same article above states ‘Placebos follow the same dose-response curve as real medicines. Two pills give more rel…

Greetings All, No, this is not necessarily a rehash of an overdone topic, but rather a focusing and sharing of recent insights I've acquired to hopefully provide some empirical clarity on the subject. As always, I will make my thoughts and attempt to keep this discussion accessible to all knowledge levels. To start, this is how I define and will use the term consciousness from this point forward in our discussion: Consciousness - the awareness suggested by an organism's observed behavioral responses to stimuli. I prefer that definition because we cannot assess organisms, which include humans, as being meaningfully aware if they do not observably respond …

Hey there, i'm again with a assumption that could be wrong. (lol, probably i'm known as "wrong science theories guy"). It can be possible to plug some prosthesis and gene-changing to the neural cells degenerated by Parkinson disease? Like, make some steps to solve a Parkinson disease, same of a cancer treatment? Well, that project I thinked is called THE GENIE: a process that changes the genes of specific areas to downcrease chances of Parkinson, by acting on their main areas. I will show it in some processes: An apparel will check the neural structure of the black substance, and will detect areas and cells that could be probable to suffer with degeneration by Parkinson, …

Hello, and g'day! It looks like the title is confusing - because it is. But, let me explain this more further, it possible to feel senses, like taste, smell, touch and hear, outside of the places that you can find these senses. For example, you can smell the sweet odor of an lavander camp in the French rural zone, inside of your home, without a lavander plant on your garden or even living in the France. You get it? Well, how this technology could work? It can WORKS? Well, I think that can happens, and this is happening right now since 2022. I'll say why it works: If you don't knows - the brain works with electric pulses that is interpreted on every thing that we feels, l…

Hi I live in france, if i see an animal that got hit by a car, suffering to death on the road, i would like to shorten its suffering (if i see it's completely smashed and will die for sure) I don't even think there is a service of the government to call in such situation*, that could come fast to try to save the animal Could you please recommend a way to kill the animal so it's as fast as possible ? or slower if it's less painful, i hope you understand. Without knife/rocks, in case i have nothing. Regards *last time there was a dog, it seems he had a broken leg, i called the firefighters, 20 minutes after, still nothing, the guy on the phone said he sent people but i thi…

Nowadays, it seems we are in an exponenntial rate of neuroscience and science development. Last year a researcher discovered a link between epigenetics and homossexuality. Plus, we are having CRISPR being used to make real and effective results in gene editing, even with UK starting to edit human embryos. Plus, neuroscience is gaining acess to multiple methods, and even optogenetics, with the advent of CRISPR, and the breaking of the hematoencephalic barrier in the brain (using ultrasound and microbubbles) make it possible to deliver gene therapies to the whole brain tissue. Next year the first trial on head transplant is going to happen, with the russian volunteer and th…

Assume there is a patient with permanent nerve damage , If we collect stem cells from persons brain and cultivate them to form a nerve and then implant it , is it possible, Are there any chances, I know what I am talking about is easy to type but very difficult in practical but just asking if anything regarding to this is already happening 😄

Hello I don't do any power lifting, neither have a physical job, is it the reason i can feel my spinal cord bones so easily by finger touch? I'm not sure but it seems to me it's just how the human body is made I'm surprised it seems that much exposed, is there some way to make it less exposed? It's scary imo

The vulva is the female external genitalia collectively. Laymen commonly call that a vagina but that term is not accurate. There seems to be no formal scientific collective term for male external genitalia but slang terms including manhood and package. What might be a good scientific term for male external genitalia as a whole corresponding to vulva for females? VULVA is Latin for "covering, womb, or matrix". What single Latin word might best describe the whole of the male external parts? The Latin word for "rooster is "gallus". Does a bird's head with wattles not closely resemble male parts?

Hey all, this is my first post here. I need help finding clear/ HD pictures of a Cross-Section of Head Model (all sections of this model) for my Anatomy Class. I would greatly appreciate if someone that has it could share it with me or guide me to another forum where I could receive help. Thanks a lot. Here is the link to the model: https://www.southernbiological.com/somso-anatomical-sectional-model-of-the-head-anatomical-model/

I experiment for 20 years with alkaloids, 12 years I found a substance that blocks even nicotine one of the strongest nerve toxics (not by potency), further self trials by overdose of drugs cocaine methamphetamine worked well, it blocked the effects of drugs within minutes even smoked scorpion poison (hallucinogen drug) it halted the effects. It could for sure save the life of many drug users and scorpion poison victims. I believe it works also against all nerve toxics like poisonous gas and snake bites. I tried for years to find a partner to start proper animal trials, but I never got an answer. You can not patent self trials and animal trials you n…

I have seen a thread from 2017-2019 about this sensation and I'll try to explain it best I can. If I'm alone and it's quiet I can focus enough to what I am going to call active relaxation and it gives me an electrifying feeling throughout my entire body. In the thread I saw most people who could do this said they could only hold it like 10 seconds when I've sat for a few minutes if I'm really focused. Does anybody have a scientific explanation for this. I have heard it called spiritual stuff others said it could a forced release of adrenaline without the fear which is an interesting thought I don't know if it is correct though. if anyone has any thoughts please share.

The combination problem of how consciousness is unified in the mind might be helped if the brain were viewed as mono-sensory. So the brain could be viewed as exclusively visual for an able bodied person or exclusively audial for a blind person. That’s a simplistic solution to avoid the need to reconcile other senses! So one way to think of a lobotomy of removing your frontal cortex is much like blindsight where you can’t focus on the background even if you can detect far-sighted scenes such that you’d be less able to think clearly. Alternatively you might be less able to subvocalise when your frontal cortex is close to your mouth. We could think of secondary senses slower…

Mind! Introduction In its simplest form, mind is about being aware of oneself, and of the world around oneself. For some, mind is strictly confined to human brains while others see it everywhere. So, where is mind and how does it work? Were is the Mind in the Brain? After decades of scientific investigation and ongoing debate, no center has yet been found in the brain for subjective experience. Research so far has yielded inconclusive results. Where the “I” resides in the machine remains elusive (references below). Searching for the Mind in Nature! Mounting evidence points to intelligence being everywhere in nature. Animals, even small ones, …

I gather that with surrogacy, an egg can be fertilised inside a woman then transferred to another who can give birth. Re abortion If a woman were to have an abortion at say 11 weeks gestation, would it in theory be possible to "transfer" the child to another womb rather than killing him? Cheerz GIAN🙂XXX

Where is mind in the brain? unanswered How does the mind work through the brain? unanswered As long as these two questions remain undetermined, we cannot be absolutely certain that mind is brain based. A minority of neuroscientists are starting to have a look at panpsychism, because the data does not always seem to fit with a brain-based model Terminal lucidity and near-death experiences may be manifestations of mind outside brains, but the jury is still very much out on these two! Collective consciousness - Carl Jung Mind – another dimension or dimensionless (without time nor space) I do not think that you can query the subjective in th…

This was popular I believe in the late 1990s and probably the early 2000s. Taken from the wiki article on ECA stacking to explain it. "The ECA stack is a drug combination used in weight loss and as a stimulant. ECA is an acronym for ephedrine, caffeine, and aspirin. Dietary supplements based on or including elements of ECA were popular through the 1990s but the marketing of ephedra- or ephedrine-containing stimulant combinations for weight loss and bodybuilding is now restricted or illegal in the United States and Canada due to reports of heart attack, stroke, and death associated with these supplements". http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ECA_stack How Does ECA St…
