Do the side effects of porn outweigh the benefits?

Through globalisation, a growing global population and the increasing use of the internet people are viewing pornography more regularly and starting to at younger ages.

My question is, do the side effects outweigh the benefits?

It is evident that easy accessibility to pornography has decreased marriage rates but it has also decreased the value of free sex as a commodity it may have once been. What are the benefits of being desentized to sexual images? In your opinion, is it a good thing and is this the direction society should be headed?

Actually, I'm not even sure what this is supposed to mean.

Most people tend to use things when the benefits outweigh the "side effects"

For societies as a whole, well, i haven't heard complaints about people reënacting some of the stuff they see on the internet.

One country(Pakistan ? i don't realy recall) is said to have dropping birth-rates due to porn, still not sure whether this is a bad effect as many societies try to keep their birth-rates low.

Benefits usually go unnoticed(there 's not going to be this courtcase against that would-be-rapist who decided to masturbate to porn instead)

I think you've made far too many assumptions. Where's the correlation between marriage rates and access to porn? Are you claiming that available imagery for masturbation puts people off marriage? Evident? I don't think so.

"... decreased the value of free sex as a commodity it may have once been". I just don't think most people view masturbation the way you do. It's a type of sex, perhaps the most common, but it's not usually considered the preferred type of sex. I am assuming when you say "free sex" you mean a form of intercourse with another person.

Your last sentence begs the question. You're assuming desensitization occurs when viewing sexual images. Are you sure that's the case?
