It may be because July 4th isn't British Thanksgiving.

I've gotten a lot of mileage over the years out of asking the trick question, "Do they have the Fourth of July in England?"

Naa they skip the fourth and move on to the fifth

With all our British pals here, I was wondering how they felt about us celebrating giving ol' George III the... well uh, benefit of our opinion of him. British Thanksgiving?

 

Next big holiday in US is Labor Day on September 1^st.

Well I'm not British just to clarify we do actually celebrate independence day here
