Me? The unveiling of the 1st iPhone in 2007. I remember the iPhone being talked about on the radio in Poland in June 2007 when I was 13. Literal hsitory being made there:

Lotti Messa del Primo Tuono, which I will be singing a month from now and an excerpt from "Who Do You Think You Are" about the actress Minnie Driver's parents and grandparents. She was illegitimate, her father being having had a family with someone else. He was an RAF gunner in WW2, aboard a bomber in the failed Battle of Heligoland Bight. Seems the plane was damaged and only just made it back he rescued the pilot from the wreckage after crash landing - and ended up being invalided out of the RAF into a psychiatric hospital, after being proclaimed a hero of the action. He must have recovered as he ended up director of a city financial company later on. Quite an interesting story, which Minnie didn't know at all until she researched it. She seems a nice woman, actually.

Mostly music I'm trying to convert to a piano arrangement, or piano pieces I foolishly think I might be able to learn. ( A lot of such "watching," the video portion is unnecessary for me. I just go to YT because it's free and no signup required.) Also, home renovation/repair instruction videos, or bits about structural engineering and architecture.

Occasionally will watch a news clip (where video footage matters enough) or a John Oliver clip - his show goes up on YT a week or so after its HBO release. Minnie Driver clips are okay, provided they don't remind me of that dreadful puddle of treacle she was in with David Duchovny's dead wife's transplanted heart. She's adorable but... just no.

And of course the usual porn involving albino gorillas and St Bernards on unicycles. (Just checking to see if anyone is still awake after the first two paragraphs)

Gentlemen and gentlewomen - if possible, you shall provide a link to the video you've watched/are watching.

My post refers to some general categories, in answer to the OP question. I'm not going to flood the page with architectural videos or the Waldstein sonata or all the John Oliver clips. Life is short.

Having been slagged off somewhat by @MigL and @StringJunky for making somewhat disparaging remarks about one-fingered Casio playing, I had to remind myself that my favourite small brass ensemble occasionally indulge in one-fingered trumpet playing.

While I''m at it, couldn''t resist posting this faulous p***take too

There was no "Red Army" in Afghanistan in 1980-1985.

I assure you no 'slagging' was intended on my part; String Junky, on the other hand, can be awfully mean 😄..
Just intended as a gentle reminder of something I'm sure you already know 🙂.

Technically that's true - the name "Red Army" stopped being used in 1946 but I guess it's still used informally by people who aren't super pedantic about names. xD

Perhaps, in the West, but not in the Soviet Union. There, it was referred to only in historical terms.

So, was it refered to as "Red Army"? That name was officially abolished shortly after ww2, in the same wave of reforms in which People's Commisariats became Ministries.

It was referred to as "Red Army" in reference to events which occurred before the end of WWII. It was referred to as "Soviet Army" in reference to the later events.

Ya, but in the minds of many (if not most) people outside the USSR, soviet=red, even though they probably have no idea what a soviet is.

Absolutely no offence taken 🙂

Though I will continue to discriminate between those artists who sacrificed the full 10,000 hours of childhood to their vocation, and those who chose an easier path 😜

Just came up in (I think it is called) my feed.

This seems very genuine. Most of the other stuff that appears in my feed is pure crap and is ai generated (so that I click on it a lot less lately)

Don't usually watch random YouTube videos, but there are some channels I follow.
Most are Military aviation related.
Some that may be of interest to Forum members are 'Pax Americana' and 'Perun', which deal with Military policy, and for the 'scientists' among us, 'Physics Explained' and 'Veritasium'.

Good channel, with clear explanations addressing some fairly counterintuitive concepts in science. I like the interviews with the public, where Derek shows common misunderstandings.

LOL. Sometimes one forgets how much...orange there was ca. 1970.

If you like a little math with your science, try 'Physics Explained' also.

When I first started watching him, I thought ( hoped ) it was AJB.

Is that Bhatia you mean? Wasn't aware he had a J, so maybe you refer to someone else? Physics Explained has, for me, just the right dose of math. Then there's Don Lincoln's FermiLab channel which is a little more advanced. Don was a member of the science forum I used to admin, until he just got too busy with his videos and books and umpteen other things. His forum persona was very similar to Swanson's.

No, AJB was a former, higly respected member of this forum.

I havent found that to be the case.
While D Lincoln explains when and how the Higgs was found, for example, 'Physics Explained' delves into how the Higgs field/mechanism works, how it gives rise to mass and the detected particle, all with a 'simplified' mathematical model.
Check it out ...

Rulers of the world? I knew those pesky felines are up to something...

Just what I needed, another cat video.
Like I already don't spend half of my internet time watching cat videos.

As a former owner of two cats that I adored, I'm resisting the idea of getting another, as putting the previous ones 'to sleep' after 15 and17 years were two of the most difficult decisions I've had to make.
