  1. Hi all, Now im no expert in this field, However i came across this after seeing a program on the television and it showed this "craft" or device working. And it really is remarkable. It's basically a device that floats upwards with only bare materials. I think the man's name was tim ventura. Now if you search for "tim ventura's Invention" You will get some pretty interesting results. here is a link to the main thing. http://www.infinite-energy.com/iemagazine/issue45/thelifterphen.html And also could this be related but of course a good few hundred years or some fairly extensive research down the line maybe? http://www.ufos-aliens.co.uk/plasmaufo.htm (please dont start complaining about the fact that it's a ufo site. the link is merely to a page telling you about a patent that a proffesor has made) Npow is this a antigravity device? How is this possible beside the obvious "electrogravitics" described in the many articles when you google it. I thought i would ask on here as it's much more likely to get a decent response. Cheers all in advance.
  2. Now hang on, The Big bang theory is very credible, But in all fairness it does not mean it is a guaranteed definite fact. Now im not going to get into a debate about whether or not the BBT is correct or not as simply put, Im no expert, in that field therefore could not logically argue any point on either side of the argument. But so far every other theory that may explain how the universe was created as we know it has, sounded a lot less credible and has not had nearly as many facts or credible points to it. Ahh i see now. I agree. However there could be still parts of the universe developing now that would therefore be younger than the rest as some parts as we know are billions of years old and these "new" parts are in the last few million years developing. We can only see so far into space (which is also technically back in time, due to the distance and the speed that light travels at) so there could be a lot going on beyond that we just dont know about. Being honest here though , The way we calculate the age of star's may well be incorrect. If you go back 50 years which is nothing in terms of time since the universe was created. We had nowhere near as much knowledge to do with the ages of star's etc as we do now. in another 10 years from now i would not be surprised if they came up with a new way that made it much more accurate. However for all i know it could be exactly bang on as it is now and we have truly mastered calculating the ages of stars. I find it very annoying when people stick to one certain theory as if it is 100% reliable and guaranteed as nothing we know ever is. 10 years, 50 years or 1000 down the line, something could come to light that completely disproves even the most sound of theories. And it is illogical to think otherwise(not directed at any above posts)
  3. FYI wikipedia can be edited by anybody and should not be ever taken as hard fact. To the OP. What is your question exactly mate? What do you require assistance with? As humans ,We can only learn as far as we progress as a whole. one immortal man could not be "all knowing ", he could be very knowledgeable but if you were to say have him from the year 1ad until now. his knowledge would only be as advanced as our's as he had to learn with the times and unlearn all the false things that have been since dis-proven. As far as the multidimensional universe goes, In my opinion it certainly could be possible, But i have yet to see anybody who could do the calculations to prove it to me, and even if they could, I dont know if i would be smart enough to verify them. And if you think about it, While it is entirely possible, How could we prove this? What way do we have of showing that is is possible, Which is why i think so many people including myself have such a hard time trying to come up with an answer or explain it. Just for the record, I think it could be possible, I do not think that it is definite. What you are saying about anything that does not have a direct impact on survival or our ability to procreate is unnecessary information is wrong however. Most scientific theories people come up with that are widely recognized are not about procreation at all.
  4. I see what your talking about. I guess most people dont like accepting new ideas that are different from the ones they were taught as it creates a full new understanding of things they thought they understood. It's very interesting im going to have a look into this and see what the report says. Thanks for sharing
  5. Im no expert, But that will probably never happen in our lifetime. When people did start eventually trying to achieve that, There would most probably be many many deaths from experimental testing etc. The human body is not designed to grow that fast at all, The bones especially cannot. What chemical do you propose would be injected into humans to make them grow that fast, change the color of your skin, Or make your facial features change? even if it was managed which it will not be, do you realize how sore it would be? Imagine your nose going from flat to pointy, That would be like torture. Gene therapy is taking a much different path to this sort of thing at the moment and doesn't seem like it will be changing to going down this course at all. All your features are pattern's of enzymes passed on from one human to the next, this is done by a substance in the nucleus of the cell, Not a protein called DNA. this is the key substance which is passed from one cell to another (for instance, sperm cells consist mostly of DNA) and carries the information as to how to make the enzymes. DNA is the "blueprint".So what does the blueprint look like, and how does it work? First, the blueprint must e able to reproduce itself.Secondly it must be able to instruct the protein. Concerning the reproduction, we might think this proceeds like cell reproduction. Cells simply grow bigger then divide in half. Must it be thus with DNA molecules, then, That they grow bigger and divide in half? Every atom certainly does not grow bigger and divide in half! No, It is impossible to reproduce a molecule except by some more clever way. The Dna molecule is a pair of chains, twisted upon each other. The backbone of each of these chains which are analogous to the chains of proteins but chemically quite different, is a series of sugar and phosphate groups, Now the chain can contain instructions, For if we could split this chain down the middle, we would have a series BAADC...and every living thing could have a different series. Thus perhaps, in some way the specific instructions for the manufacture of proteins are contained in the specific series of the DNA. I hope this has given you a basic understanding of things. STP
  6. Interesting topic, Who knows by the time it happens if humanity is still around we will probably be dispersed among other planets as well on colonies. Who knows, but im sure we would find a way to avoid "doomsday" if that were to be the case of what was going to happen. I think i would have to agree with many of the previous posters that there would be a very small chance of anything colliding with each other when the galaxies did merge, And it would take around 100 lifetimes for them to merge together properly i think. Astronomy has always fascinated me, There are so many mysteries still up there in space we have no clue about. If you think of things on a large scale we know very little about space. it's so vast, beautiful and unexplored.
  7. at first when i read your title, I dismissed it and thought of course it is better to live than to never have lived because who knows what contributions you as a person could have made to society, science etc . maybe there is a reason we cant choose whether or not to live as an embryo. Now that i read your post it is a lot more thought out than i expected and i see what your getting at. Whether we have "good" or "bad" lives is you are right dependent on where we grow up who we are raised by , environmental factors, cultural factors and many many more things, However it is also down to you as a person to try and alter your existence. Some of the greatest minds that ever lived have come from poverty so you could say that it was either a one in a million chance that they made something of themselves, or because of the choices they made. I choose to believe it's down to the choices we make , Maybe because it gives me hope that no matter how bad things get you can always change it somehow. There are many more factors that drive us to do things instead of desires as well remember so it's sort of like a tug of war between your feelings , reality and other factors. People that have "bad" lives could change that and vice versa. better for who or what if humanity were to go extinct? And a stillborn could have no desires and has no knowledge of anything yet so it certainly would not be desirable for them to be dead rather than get a shot at life. Think about it, How could they desire not to live when they have had no experiences yet. some people are suicidal, They have no desire to live, Yet they can overcome that. And if every person died in utero then we would have no existence as humans and nothing would be as it is hence a massive game changer to whether or not people would want to live. interesting topic. But i have to say overall no it is not more desirable to be stillborn than to have lived. At least if your life goes bad you gave it a shot. You never know you could have started some butterfly effect that will take shape long after you die. So while your existence may seem pointless, it may have a much greater bearing on humanity than we know.
  8. Could you answer Inow's question so i can understand what your getting at? nobody said you were trying to convert anybody, However i have seen you going in this direction quite a few times. are you trying to Point us in the direction of a book? Are you making a point or asking question? could you make this clear please.
  9. Europe and Celtic culture are a history subject and while they are truly fascinating are a completely different topic to extraterrestrial life. I believe that while there are too many wild conspiracy theory's out there that probably cast doubt on the subject, The odds are with us that there is extra terrestrial life out there, Who knows if it is intelligent life or just creatures, But i definitely think that there is something out there. There are too many habitable planets out there that humans could survive on but we are just too far away to manage to get there. If we could be here , Why is it not possible that there could be beings on another habitable planet ? And that alone is based on the belief that things could only survive on what we call "habitable". An ET' s anatomy could allow them to survive on planets we could never even consider landing on let alone survive there. If they are smarter than us, and have advanced technology then i would imagine they would seek out other intelligent life as well, However the universe is more than a big place we probably cant even comprehend how massive it really is. so there could be multiple planets with equal, lesser or advanced technology and civilizations and they are the same as us in the sense of trying to hunt ET life, we would be the aliens to them. Personally i think the whole little green man thing is rubbish, But i would place money on the fact that somewhere in the universe there is life. What do you think personally Krash? BTW the LOTR is much better in the books than the movies. And dragons were originally depicted in ancient Scotland as giant worms almost they certainly had no wings.
  10. Wow good post, I think it really needs to be addressed as well. Well, my thoughts are that as soon as it gets to the stage where they can produce specific results time and time again, maybe not as far down the line as where they will be readily available though, It will still be countries fighting for supremacy; people still dont get that We are all human, for example if aliens came to earth they wouldn't see Americans, British, chinese, russians they would see Humans. so 9it will all be about money. I saw in the paper yesterday there is a young man who got a bionic arm, And has an App that he can use to control it, I mean seriously? Surely that must be easy to hack. That would be fatal for people and governments, If they decide to use them to advance human capabilities especially if it was in the military sector, and they make it possible to hack then hacker groups would no longer be running Ddos and SQL injection's among other things it would be all about building your own private army's through controlling the nano bytes or bionics. Scary stuff. though we dont create many things that are 100% safe , Do we? Sure we should learn from previous mistakes such as nuclear power but seriously once it's created how do we limit the flow of knowledge? You cant so it will be available to everyone if it's available to some.
  11. In my opinion, You could win any argument if you are good enough at arguing. As long as the points you make are factual, and you drop them in at the right time. It doesn't matter which side of the debate you are on, As you can win either way as long as you are smarter than your opponent. Now people will argue with me here that there are some arguments that are right and some that are wrong, So the side with the right answers would win, Not necessarily. Ever seen tobacco companies win a debate? yeah even though they kill millions of people, It is because people choose to smoke, By banning cigarettes or whatever you are basically declaring that people aren't smart enough to make up their own mind. Which is wrong. People watching the debate get all worked up about not being able to make up their own mind and side with the tobacco companies. (just an example) Are you asking for tips on debating or topics to debate? If it's tips on debating then all i can really say is be mindful during the debate, They will either slip up and say something not entirely true, Or say something that could be seen both ways at which point you should jump in and say well hang on ... people can be persuaded of anything really, You just need to be convincing.
  12. Thanks mate i just did it there and there are a ton of things to look at. Il give it a go. Did you check out the man from earth mate?
  13. Im sure you all heard about the ancient greek "computer" which worked with gears and mechanical parts. It could predict any planetary movements and is accurate even now. I couldn't believe it but it is true. Have a quick google and you'l see.The article isn't about this so i'l skip ahead. Im watching a program " Treasures decoded" about the turin shroud. Now they are looking into if it could have been the work of a master forger in the 13th or 14th century or if it really is a biblical artifact. Now there is no evidence of photography in that period however if you look up a device called the "camera obscura" it could be used to project images. Plato wrote about it as well. Now there was no pigment, powder or anything on the shroud, however in the program im watching They have created the same thing using medieval technology and have genuinely succeeded in 2 or 3 ways. Alongside these ancient things, It is common knowledge among historians now that The roman's advanced on ancient greek technology and had medical tools to release pressure from the skull among other things , They had irrigation systems etc and then after the fall of the empire technology declined vastly. Even up until Victorian times in Britain (which was the superpower at the time) they were throwing their waste into the streets and using buckets. It took us up until this time to catch up with the technology that was "lost" at the fall of the roman empire. The history of it all really is fascinating. We really declined in advancements didn't we, If you think of all the great philosophers and inventors that were around in ancient and medieval times even compared to a few hundred years ago, In my opinion ; We seriously declined in intellect in some way. But recovered around 1900 onward. Do you think this could be to do with Civilizations? As a civilizations grow so does the people's intellect? Imagine what Plato and divinci could have done with today's technology?
  14. I would say so, And that's the thing sogam01 i would say that if you believe in something then you are likely to behave in a certain way or do certain things because you believe in it.
  15. Hi all, Just Watched a Brilliant film that really got me thinking in so many ways. I just thought i would start this topic to share it with you all, I'l also post a link to where i found the video, It's a list of 25 films all of which are very interesting. I reallly advise you to check them out, Im working my way through them now. Please feel free to post any other films that you wish to share The man from earth (Really brilliant) http://www.highexistence.com/25-spectacular-movies-you-probably-havent-seen/
  16. In my opinion it's a lot of rubbish. The amount of money donated to charities for food for starving people combined with the programs that help starving people vastly outweighs any money nasa receives. anybody who says otherwise has not really looked at the numbers. Look how much was made at ;live aid a few years back, compare that alone to the nasa budget for the same year.
  17. Well, In the next 50 years who knows what technology we might create or uncover. It can only get stronger. So we may be able to achieve the few tons of negative mass, Or who knows in 10 -15 years from now we might reduce again the amount of mass energy needed therefore making it easier to achieve. It really would be something if we managed it though wouldn't it? Space exploration would enter a new age. How would we get back though? We would have to make sure it was some sort of re-chargeable drive. There could be diseases or bacteria's that could cling to your ship that far out though that could effect us majorly back on earth in so many different ways, Maybe once you get that far out into space there could be power sources we could only dream of, natural gases, ores that could be smelted into much stronger materials than we know of etc. I wonder what really is out there.
  18. I read through the whole thing, And while i think you actually are thinking which is good, Your idea doesn't' make much sense, I really cant be bothered pointing out the mistakes i noticed as their are quite a few and even I dont know too much about quantum mechanics. You really made this quite complicated.
  19. I dont agree, And before everybody starts heckling me it's due to reasons that some people have already stated. Where do we draw the line? If you restrict the knowledge it will simply move to a deepnet site and people will think it's "cool" or will be intrigued by it. You could never actually limit this knowledge now that it's been on the internet it's out there, It will never be able to be taken down. Millions of people probably know how to make bombs, All it requires really is some high school maybe college level chemistry. It's idiots that decide to blow people up for their own agenda that ruin it for everyone, because out of 1000 people you might have the odd couple who would, But it's the same as guns or knifes, they have their uses, but if you let idiots get their hands on them people are going to get hurt. restricting the materials? half the ingredients for bombs are used in many different science experiments and limiting access would create so many problems for the normal people out there who need them. This reminds me of chemistry sets, just because the materials in them are toxic, and a stupid few might eat them, They stopped making suitable chemistry sets, You try and find one where you cant eat everything in it, it completely ruined it for everybody who wanted to get a chemistry set to teach their children about science etc. The misuse of knowledge has always been a problem and always will, The only way we can fight it is the way we always have. Keep it as hidden as possible. We can never restrict knowledge, where would we stop? Would we restrict knifes because people stab each other? the information to make nuclear bombs is already pretty hard to find, And the ingredients harder, even harder than that is finding somebody who could construct one properly.
  20. Very interesting Phi, Yes i agree, Since the development of more powerful weapons diplomacy has had a massive increase. Also i think that nuclear weapons are useless in this world now as the power of them would probably have such devastating effects it would render other forms of "war" obsolete, Also i remember reading a study somewhere saying that if say a nuclear bomb was dropped on a storage facility that contained other nukes, The blast could be so devastating that it might knock the earth of it's axis. could this be a possibility? I reckon we have a chance to better overcome our warlike tendencies. However most war is down to greed and politics and the certain few with power will always find a way to wage war. I also agree with what you said about learning to live with out knowledge, I believe we should learn as much as we possibly can because you never know when it may be useful, maybe even on a scale we couldn't imagine someday but also that if we say no to learning something then we would be making a statement that it's ok to "not learn technology" and that would be a dreadful mistake in my opinion. Where would we draw the line? How many fundamental discoveries would we pass over? The term "truly civilized" must be one of the most changed meanings in the history of time. Just think every few decades i reckon we redefine it. Go back a few hundred years and it things that were considered civilized would be considered brutal today. Even on a much smaller scale, I remember 10 years ago most parents smacked their children, Then they passed the laws which meant you weren't allowed to anymore, actually I think you may still be allowed as long as you dont leave a mark, But even so most parents today would consider it very unnecessary and cruel. It just shows you how times change.
  21. Interesting, I think you'l manage to stay afloat just fine. It is very conceivable that we live in a multi dimensional universe. However personally i would wait for some hard pointers in that direction before getting involved in starting research. Mostly because i dont know enough about it to weigh in. All the best and enjoy the forums
  22. Thank you, Il be sure to check it out. I cant wait to hear what they have found.
  23. I see what you are getting at now. Yes a theory is made up of facts, However Theory's themselves are proven wrong in some situations, While the laws or facts that are included in them remain correct. Which is why im arguing that fact trumps theory. do you see my side of the argument? And just for the record, I was not insulting you, or making any insinuations, i was only telling you what i suspected. however from now on i will keep my suspicions to myself as i can see how it may diminish the strength of my argument.
  24. I have read "the devil rides out" previously and it was very intriguing and i think i am going to get a copy of they found atlantis and give it a go =) Thanks for the recommendation.
