I would DEFINITELY want to be an immortal, provided my body will be retained to its fertile and healthy state without ageing. Being an immortal also means (in my opinion) being invinsible, which simply means that the person cannot be hurt in any way in any time, bieng like a god. In which case i'd prefer only a couple of individuals to be imortal on earth coz if everybody's immortal, then everything would start to screw up.

consider chess as a science...psychology is also science... but many people seeit as art. maybe because some aspects of it is more inclined to be of art, which are the skill, creativity and other things that was previously mentioned. We can also say that the more experience/wisdom the psychologist acquires, the better he gets...same in chess...

ok...just consider the fact that 0.99999...99 cannot be expressed by a fraction, in which case i propose that 0.9999....999 is an irrational number....i might be wrong of course. and one more thing, where the heck will you use 0.999...999 for anyway? it has no use other than just being argued at.....

Exactly.... If we live in a "perfect" world, it would be. Coz in a perfect world there is no probability, everything goes and things either happen or not happen, or happen equal to the percentage of the probability of an even in the "unperfect" world where we live in, where things happen according to the probability.

hey guys...i've been asking some hints and ideas where i could find resources for my physics speech..... i am to do a speech in physics about GPS: on how it was developed, how it works, how its used, the principles.... please point me to the right direction.....

for crying out loud people.... say for example, you want to convert 0.16161616.....161616 into a fraction let 0.16 be x let 16.16 be 100x___(this is valid because the 16 decimals areinfinite, no matter how long it is.... so, 100x = 16.16161616.....1616 minus, x = 0.16161616......1616 99x = 16 x=16/99 there you go. proving that 0.9999...999 = 1 goes the same way any other recurirng decimals undergo to beconverted to fractions. ...(What i've written earlier before i replaced this is just some miscalculation...please ignore it...) anyway......recurring 9's are a special case, because what i've seen so far there's no fraction to equal that one....so that makes it a special case...

Oh come on guys.... that equation is used to convert recurring decimals into fractions.... and it is right that 9.9 ('bar') = 1

well my 3 untis maths teacher told me that you can.... but as far as i'm concerned the 4 units maths people can do it, am not 1 of em.

hi people.. i got a simle question in algebra i can't figure out.... you know about factorizng algebraic equations right? e.g. (XX-YY) = (X+Y)(X-Y) (XX+2XY+YY) = (XX+YY)(XX+YY) you know, basic stuff.... but there's one algrbraic expression i can't factorize.... (XX+YY) please help... Note that double character means squared, e.g. XX = X*X or X (squared)

yeah... we're the same....xept that am stil in high school.....but what really sparked my interest in science one my "almost" girlfriend.... she was very intelligent and i decided ot beat her in every subject (year 7) I did succed in beating ber grades for like 2 years, xept history where i really suck, but i had to go oversees from the phils to aust so i didn't have the chance to ask her out......but stil am very thankful because if it wasn't for her i would never be as "smart" and as interested in science like i am today

hmmm...i remember seeing a kid's cartoon on tv about stopping hiccups..... if you're from NSW, Australia and is a child, or has a brother and/or sister who watches ABC kids every afternoon, and has only one tv and you are so borred so you have no choice but to watch.....everyday.....(like me,then you have probably seen the kid's cartoon Ruby and Max..... In the cartoon Ruby, the bunny sister, had a hiccup during their play rehearsal. Max, her brother, wanted to play his dragon mask.....yadayadayada.... Then Ruby decided she wanted to get rid of her annoying hiccup...so she tried 3 ways...first she held her breath for as long as she can, but it didn't work, 2nd way is to drink lots and lots of water. But unfortunately it didn't work either.....lastly she wanted to try her final 'way' of getting rid of her hiccup, that is to get scared. But she knew she couldn't be frightened by her friends coz she knew they are going ot do it. But then grandma shows up with a "scary" monster mask....and scared the wits out of ruby, after that her hiccup is gone!! and here's when i stop telling this stupid story. fin
