Can you sense when someone looks at you?
Sorry that doesn't make sense to me. Do I have to read your mind or literary intent or is that some kind of autocomplete malfunction? All one sentence? I like the interpretation that we are all like bats in the darkness (or daylight) carving out subsection of the surrounding and incoming reality with our "radar apparatus" When two of these bats (us) communicate our two beams themselves intersect and our communication takes place mainly in this shared physical and psychic territory. It is a "model" that has been on my mind this past week (A bit like a third person/entity in the relationship-and that model would also extend to society in general ) I don't think that is far out or controversial, just that I didn't think of it like that till recently)

Who do I vote for to aid singles suffering involuntary celibacy
Oh.How do they do that? What ,specifically do they do (or not do) to you or others that makes you say that? To the OP ,maybe something like self awareness classes could be promoted by the council. I would run a mile but some would in all likelihood benefit and perhaps there would be a benefit to society in general and ,who knows the classes might bring pleasure (and even be places where people could meet and later fall in love)

Can you sense when someone looks at you?
On a related note,I was (just this past while) sitting in the room with my partner and she was explaining to me about a shop she had visited and mentioned in passing that she was wondering who owned the shop. On my side my attention had wandered and dreaming had set in so that my attention was split into two parts. I heard her say "I wonder who owns that shop" whilst in my dream I was in the car with a passenger who was about to get out of the car and enter the same shop. In my half dream/half awake state I began to answer her "I know who owns the shop" (none of us do in reality) but I caught myself on and thought "that makes no sense" and woke up to realize that In had been half awake ,half "adream" I wonder if that could be related to the kind of connection you were talking about? Could we be normally connected to each other in subconscious ways that weave their ways beneath our conscious connections leaving us surprised from time to time when we seem to be sharing the same thoughts?

Is this an important new finding?
I don't want to post off topic but this seems related and came in the post yesterday (well,June 6 it says) https://news.mit.edu/2024/exotic-black-holes-could-be-dark-matter-byproduct-0606 "Exotic black holes could be a byproduct of dark matter In the first quintillionth of a second, the universe may have sprouted microscopic black holes with enormous amounts of nuclear charge, MIT physicists propose"

Maybe incels could be offered subsidized transgender ops as women never seem to have this problem?

Superdeterminism (just came upon this )
So there could never be a random event and this would apply to all thought processes too? Is it possible to apply logic to that hypothesis? Could logic also be defined by randomness? Don't they say you can prove nothing by logic but that you can (according to its rules) disprove a hypothesis?

help me experiment to establish curvature
Not a one. Maybe if I ventured abroad a little further.

help me experiment to establish curvature
I have never met a "flat-earther" Are you sure they exist?

Can you sense when someone looks at you?
I have noticed the opposite. If another person is unaware of your presence ,they will carry on as if you are not there. Bizarre ,quoi? Sometimes ,even I think I am alone only to discover there is someone else in the room . Really odd! (think the OP is copy and paste - should've guessed)

Superdeterminism (just came upon this )
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Superdeterminism "Physicists Sabine Hossenfelder and Tim Palmer have argued that superdeterminism "is a promising approach not only to solve the measurement problem, but also to understand the apparent non-locality of quantum physics". Howard M. Wiseman and Eric Cavalcanti argue that any hypothetical superdeterministic theory "would be about as plausible, and appealing, as belief in ubiquitous alien mind-control" Those seem like two pretty diametrically opposed interpretations of what is a.... (actually I have some trouble describing what it seems to be) It is apparently a theoretical loophole in Bell's Theorem.Have any possible experiments been proposed that could test this one way or another or it probable that none can ever be devised? Can there be there any useful comparisons with the block universe idea?

Who do I vote for to aid singles suffering involuntary celibacy
I suppose I was being facetious. It is well worth considering if social skills should be taught as part of the general curriculum. I can see pros and cons (I would have run a mile-I was "expelled" from the Boy Scouts for failing the tidyness test but others might have benefitted)

Is that what finishing schools are for? A finishing school for men might fit the bill Seems a bit like Fight Club for Toffs https://www.britishbutlerinstitute.com/finishing-school-home/finishing-school-programmes/finishing-school-for-men/

Eye Floaters ,Weiss rings
So (I know some people don't like thst use of "so") I saw the optometrist and she said the floater looked a littie thin in one place She had given me a referral to an ophthalamologist in 7-10 days even though I have had no symptoms of detached retina. They offered me some micronutrient (vitrocap) seemingly to dissolve the weiss ring but I didn't bother with it(maybe down the line if it becomes annoying) As well I had a bacterial infection in the eyelid and so it will be more comfortable when that clears.

Major breakthrough faster than light travel
There are two measurements ,aren't there?(I assumed that the pre tunnel particle was measured and then the post tunneling particle was measured and the interval measured) (Well I might be wrong as my knowledge is so patchy) Is the wave function applied to the field?(I thought particles were excitations of the field -in qft)
-
Major breakthrough faster than light travel
I went a bit off topic and was thinking about @joigus 's disginction btw reality and causality and probably got the wrong end of the stick. I think "realism" (local realism?) has a defined meaning and use in physics (quantum physics?) that I have not been able to get my head around so far and perhaps I confused it with "reality" As for the OP it seems there are time lapses that can be measured as well as distances but ,perhaps you are saying it that the field is in both places and it is just the measurements of two particles in that field that are separated by time and space giving the illusion that one particle travels to the position of the second particle -and at a speed above c.

Major breakthrough faster than light travel
Is this another way of looking at it? Anything that we try to describe as a reality is always in motion. So by the time we examine the situation it is in the past. That is anthropocentric but if we acknowledge that we are part of the system being interrogated then it applies to the apparently exterior world.

Testing for DNA in the environment.
https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c99zn92g2qgo "Scientists sampling DNA in the air to monitor the spread of deadly diseases say their work could help make food prices cheaper " I can think of potato blight as a candidate but there must be much more. I wonder what they might test for.

Eye Floaters ,Weiss rings
Well done you.You dodged an almighty bullet. I think I read that the laser treatment to the back of the eye can be quite severe (a bit like a punch in the face) Anything like that?

Eye Floaters ,Weiss rings
Thanks. I passed by the ophthamologist this afternoon to book a checkup but they were closed on the Saturday. I will try again next week. Did you have any pain at the time? I have been rubbing the eye for the past 4 days.It feels like grit got in or one of those mini styes. It is just on the eyelid ,anyway but I think I read that pain could be an indication of something serious (blurry vision would be another indication ,I saw)

Eye Floaters ,Weiss rings
Does anyone else have these? I have just got myself a new "companion" in my right hand vision who twists around like a falling leaf or one of those arty mobiles. I also have "floaters" that come every 6 months and only last for 10-20 minutes perhaps. This new visual defect (the Weiss ring) seems here to stay. It goes away when I concentrate my vision or thoughts on one thing but reappears as soon as I relax. I am learning from the internet that the brain will likely filter it out in a few months although there are some people with lots of floaters who find that their life has deteriorated a lot ( eg no reading , telly or going in the sun),probably because they have very many of the floaters. So ,is anyone else in the same boat as me with a Weiss Ring? Any advice as to how to make the (hopefully short ) habituation period as unannoying as possible?

When did spacetime form?
Was spacetime curved even before the Higgs field formed? There were sources of gravitation then separate from mass? I was confused in the OP and imagined that spacetime came into being around the same time as the Higgs field. I now think that spacetime existed as far back as the BB(T+ 10^-43 seconds ) and that it was curved ,although I have no idea how curved it would have been-possibly indistinguishable from flat spacetime or possibly extremely curved.I don't know.

When did spacetime form?
No I meant objects (interactions?) .The points ,to my mind are (relative) attributes of the objects. I understand what you said (avoiding using the word "point" ,as in "your point") about differential geometry breaking down but did I read somewhere something about some attempt at building a maths based on a "discontinuous number system?) Maybe the "objects" I had in mind would be fields. Better not ask any more questions here and get even further out of my depth..

When did spacetime form?
Do you mean there could be no quantifiable relationships between distinct objects ?

Trump Guilty
Is Washington State a winner takes all of the electoral college votes? They would likely do Trump a favour by taking him off the ballot so that he could whine about being a victim and concentrate his resources elsewhere where he had an actual chance of getting electoral votes. That said ,if that is the law in the State ...
