  1. Could it be amethyst? Small crytalling forms of it?
  2. I'll tell you how to do it. Find the electronic configuration of the element. The nuimber of electrons in its outer shell is the group number. Look at any element in the same group for this one. Elements that lie on the left hand side and middle of the periodic table are all metals. Elements that lie towards the right are all non-metals. For elements that are semi-metal, look at the link: http://helios.augustana.edu/physics/301/periodic-table-fix.jpg Notice that there is a zig zag line that starts at boron, it is dark. Any elements that lie next to that line are semi-metal.
  3. Thank you for the comment!
  4. I was wondering what The B was. I forgot it!
  5. oh ok Something i missed that out and i just did my chemistry GCSE double sicence higher tier today :eek:
  6. yeah. But, the best thing that we could do is to be the best science forums on the net. We should appear first in any scientific search on google. That's a good target..
  7. Probably hydro carbo something chloric acid!!!!
  8. hmm... maybe brealong the human up into atoms, and then sending them across to the other side, and then reform it. But, that, again would be duplication and destruction. Maybe we could move humans to another time frame for a split second and return him back to ours. Like what the X-men did in the cartoon with that blue guy in X-men 2
  9. How soon??? They are the topmost visited websites in the world. I think it would be quite some time before SF is the topmost. Google would be nearly impossible to beat! The topmost sites are usually search engines!
  10. You may be half right on this one, in my opinion. Sometimes, a site can get crowded, and in that case, slow down your download speed. But, the main thing that slows down a site's speed is the content that needs to be downloaded. If a site has lots of pics and all, then, it would increase the amount of time taken to download the files.
  11. It looks correct to me. By the way, on the last line, which is the correct balances equation, you missed out a 3 after the SE. You said: It should actaully be: AL2 SE3 + 6H20 = 3H2 SE3 + 2AL(OH)3
  12. Its the most common one. But, I don't think people these days use their brains anyway! Not in my school at least!
  13. I added the link to the forums as well on my website. Its in the science section!
  14. Good thing to learn! I learnt that as well....on my first day here
  15. oh boy, looking at it from the science point of view really makes it look like a rubbish movie!
  16. yeah, and it happened in only a few hours or something!
  17. Yeah, it was that the core stopped spinning. In real life, what would have happened if something like that happened? Would the earth loose its magnetic field?
  18. Well, I was told that the only way to acheive such a thing is to try and beats your old time at holding your breath. I also heard of another way, it amkes your lungs stonger as you do it. 1.Take a deep breath, as much as possible. 2.Let the breath slowly out. Keep on removing it until you can go no further. You will know when that happens as you cannot let any breath out, and in effect, can't talk at all. 3.Try to maintain that status, and then. breath in. I think you only need to do it for 5 minutes every day. But, it will take time to develop. Maybe years!
  19. Its ok! I thought that it musht stir up some confusion!
  20. Your welcome. Hope that helped. Its really a simple question, but requires a complex answer
  21. To do that, look for processes that weren't there, or are new in name, or unfamiliar.
  22. Well, thanx for the link, but all the coursework has been finished and all. I have actually sat the non-calculator paper before yesterday! {Edit} Just noticed I have 1111 posts!
  23. Well, i did, and that's why i know which formula to use. I needed it for the stats project for my coursework. I am planning to do maths A level since I want to go into chemical engineering
