  1. As long there is lighting inside the incubator there is power inside which you can use for powering the GoPro, should be a fairly easy modification.
  2. I presume the timescale of the experiment is days? Maybe a GoPro with additional power supply or harvest the power from inside of the incubator. 32C is no problem for any camera, a GoPro would give you great quality but you can get one of the cheaper cameras from China. You need extreme wide angle lens or even a „fish eye” lens.

I learned a few interesting things today from this public lecture by Nima Arkani-Hamed. The first 45 minutes are especially interesting as he gives an easilly digestible picture of modern particle physics and some interesting insights on symmetries, different aproaches to spacetime, updated Feynman diagrams and more:
  4. So we’re watching tonights Russia-Croatia game with my Missus. The image Im posting below came up showing the spectators and she concluded that they’re wearing traditional Croatian hats. I almost choked on my chips, the best jokes are brought by real life Edit: She laughed hilariously when I told her what those „hats” are
  5. This actually made me laugh:

Somebody watched too much of „Mars Attacks!”
  10. I will add to Eise’s post that the red color in your pictures is caused by the evening sun warm color temperature (you will have the same edffect just after the sunrise as well) The sunset/sunrise color temperature is about 2000K which is very a pleasant warm color. The „color temperature” concept comes from objects heated up and glowing - emitting a certain color of light depending on the temperature, like a steel rod will glow when heated different colors depending on the temperature. Heres a list of common sunlight temperetures depending on the angle at which the sunlight hits the earth at different times of the day: Source: https://www.eizo.com/library/basics/color_temperature_on_an_LCD_monitor/

Today I learned there is a hip hop music genre caused by and dedicated to benzodiazepine (Xanax) kids who abuse the prescription drug. California Lil Xan whos stage name derives from the drug, born 1996 peaked nr. 64 on the Billboard hot 100 in 2017 with one of his songs. I remember reading short scifi stories in the 80’s with scenarios like that, we’re living in a cheap scifi short.

I’m curious to see what this is about, first time I’ve heard of this.

Wow, I wasn’t aware that something like that could exist. Its a lot weirder that a grown man insisting on accepting that he identifies with being a 6 year old girl. Then again, a link would be good.

Still less f up than evangelists from the American south The snow plowing made me laugh, I feel sory for his wife and kids though. What makes me laugh too, is this righty interviewer treating this whole thing as something that we should be concerned about legisatively. Why doesn’t he target polygamy in the US south for example? Theres surely more of that going in than grown men thinking they’re 6 year old girls...and its surely hurting a lot more people than this poor bastard.
  16. I hope I didn't get to ya with that "geriatric" comment. Or do I ?
  17. Yep, worked for me. This one does even better for me:

Thats funny. I’d go on a limb and say that if you had to explain that to the sales people they’re not very good sales people.

I had exactly your thoughts while posting this and I realize why you took my post as stereotyping. I actually have little knowledge on eastern cultures and my only goal with these thoughts was to learn more. I agree that stereotyping is a slippery slope even if the intentions are positive, theres this saying in my language: „Officiousness is worse than fascism” and it applies here. I too have experience with teaching people from different backgrounds and cultures, I actually developed a mechanism to be sensitive to a degree to other cultures while in formal situations, finding common things always worked for me because there is always common ground to be found however vastly different cultures I dealt with - in this context I have to disagree that full immersion is neccesary, I noticed that people value certain levels of empathy towards their culture and being sincere always worked for me. I can certainly see why you value your approach, mine is risky and it requires a certain type of behaviour/approach which seems to come naturaly to me. As for stereotyping, I’m so not built for it, theres alwas some level of prejudice and stereotyping in all of us but I rather not waste my time on it as it leads to dead ends.

It’s definitely due to philosophy or probably buddhism for that matter. I’ve had this notion of general perception/perspective of what/where/who we are with regard to nature come up a few times. I think its a good thing and its certainly something that I/we don’t have here where I live.

Today I learned (or rather it struck me) that I see a fundamental difference between western and asian worlds - a „westerner” when sittng on a bench in a park by himself observes whats around him, trees, grass, etc - theres a distinction between „me” and „nature” where the „asian” world see themselves as an intrinsic part of that surrounding nature, it doesn’t surround them - they’re a part of it. I don’t know if I make much sense but there it is.
