Theyre cork screw shape and pretty huge and disgusting for such a warm and fuzzy animal as a duck. I'd post a gif but it's disturbing.

Today I learned that by using a combined Uranium 235 & Uranium 238 dating method it is possible to achieve an error margin in dates of rocks as low as less than 2 million years in 2,5 billion years.

Curtesy of swansont I have learned a colloquialism today which I will definitely use myself in the future: "argument by rectal retrieval"
  8. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OGeYR9ZFgVI I love the lyrics, here are the first 3 verses: We live in a strange world Wanna bite it but hard as nails A world i pretend love And concepts we can't think over That doesn't mean we make our Tooth-fairytales So wake up and get into It might just be good for you I'm a man Who has freedom to believe And i choose reality No deamon that sues me But i know it can be hard To hide from a tyranosaurus Speak as your tiny mind That swallows the universal And I Live in fear no more I want you to Live in fear no more And I I'm built like a hurricane I want you to be In control again Edit: Could some native confirm that "sues" should be "soothes" ?

Considering whats going on in other threads for the past few days, Strings crap post here is fascinating and top of the line. Seems that despite tight moderation theres going to be mental excrements flowing no matter what.

You mean the jargon that is used by poker players to exchange information about what happened in a certain hand for example? This jargon is actually very effective at compacting information. Its not only spelling though, its practically a whole language both written and spoken

This is what happens to my mind when Im trying to make a tuff call in poker.
  15. Where was that?
  16. Dogs have extremely acute senses of hearing and smell. They can literally hear and smell your emotions like fear for example. This might look like a super power but it's only evolution I'm afraid. This has nothing to do with sensing emotions with some 6th sense so yes, there is a lot of insane in stating that empath's who have ESP capabilites exist.
  17. In some bars in eastern Europe you can get far more toxic drinks than H2o2

Chips are those greasy, moist, bulky chunks of potatoes right ? Blasphemy I say ! Today I learned from the film below that Edward Witten whose voice and style of speech is not the easiest to get used to is actually capable of very effectively conveying difficult concepts in a surprisingly accessible way. The 10 minutes between 12:00-22:00 are very interesting to me: https://youtu.be/RfwsvSjXkJU?t=731

It's a good thing that I'm having alcohol right now (whiskey & coke zero) so I'm giving my brain adequate glucose to process the clip you posted as alcohol is converted more or less straight into sugar. Oh and and a +1 from me for a short 3:49 clip as my attention span is extremely short. Good clip.

Today I learned that soldiers in the Polish army (doesnt matter if hes behind the desk or not) have to pass an annual physical, graded exam. There are different time limits for different excersizes for different age groups The excersizes are the same for all age groups, just the times vary. For my age group (40-45) To get the absolute highest grade I'd have to do 12 clean overgrip pullups, 60 clean pushups, swim 550m below 12 minutes and run 3km below 12 minutes. Edit: Unless the soldiers I have in my IT training are screwing with me which is possible.
  23. Evolution.
