  1. Probably just a few "Chernobyls" with contamination limited if the weather is favourable, and with only slightly raised radiation levels beyond countries bordering Ukraine...nothing much to worry about.
  2. Sorry. Forgot where everyone got killed and nothing is actually happening now. Hint: As significant as it was, ask yourself how many died? How many injured? Compare to any hour in the last few days in Ukraine. Then compare the results of negotiations.
  3. Another reasonable analogy? Was Nato threatening to put Nuclear weapons in Ukraine? The Bay of Pigs Invasion of 1961, over 60 years ago, was nothing on the scale of Russia's invasion of Ukraine and, sanctions aside, the US has done nothing substantial since.
  4. Which kind of reminds me of a thought I've had the other day seeing the Ukrainian resistance...I wonder how much and how long this will set back reasonable restrictions on private ownership of assault weapons in the U.S.?
  5. ...and then of course he takes on the bully by himself while hearing words of encouragement toward himself and words of derision toward the bully.
  6. No way am I going to click like for that... ...ahh...what the heck +1
  7. And in the mean burn Russian fossil fuels...because they don't contribute to global warming.
  8. “My good friends, for the second time in our history, a British prime minister has returned from Germany bringing peace with honour. I believe it is peace for our time. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Go home and get a nice quiet sleep.” Neville Chamberlain Sept 30, 1938
  9. No. He wasn't part of the delegation.
  10. Because it's hard.
  11. Understood. I did wonder how they managed to give less protection to a late trimester unborn child, than an essentially younger one born prematurely. Simply by default and where birth is used as as the legally recognized point of human life?
  12. So essentially they make Laws, when lawmakers fail to do so.
  13. I know it is a difficult subject, but has a Federal Law ever been passed allowing full access to abortion with no restrictions?
  14. Putin of course, would only have an interest in furthering his agenda, and saving what little face he has left...which is probably only with state informed Russians, and others of his ilk.
  15. Who will host/moderate the discussion? Surely not Belarus? I would be concerned with both the safety of the Ukrainian delegates and any time for Russia to reorganize and resupply their troops.
  16. Short cease fire upcoming? Ukrainian delegation will meet with Russian delegation on Ukraine-Belarus border: https://uacrisis.org/en/ukrainian-delegation
  17. Pick it up within 5 seconds and quickly put it back on the bottle: https://kidshealth.org/en/kids/5-seconds.html#:~:text=What's the 5-Second Rule,in 5 seconds or less.
  18. We are spending millions a day to try to stop this. Actually from looking like anything at all. Just not intentionally.
  19. Partial removal of Russian access to Swift: https://www.cbc.ca/news/world/eu-russia-swift-sanctions-1.6366084 Better than getting bogged down in debate for all or none. Please keep them coming.
  20. I find myself there as well, while hoping somehow sanctions can become strong enough for immediate effect.
  21. Sad that we have to hope for a sizeable Russian body count to help deter the Russians, even while we likely care more for them than Putin does, and while the hoped for effect is so indirect given the lack of political power of the Russian people.
  22. ...assuming of course, we aren't already on it.
