I have developed a calendar that perhaps maybe useful for individuals colonizing mars in the future centuries. Each Martian Year or Mear contains 704 sols (687 days) Each sol lasts 23 hours 35 minutes There is 12 months of each Mear and here is the list of them January: 59 sols February: 59 sols March: 58 sols April: 59 sols May: 59 sols June: 58 sols July: 59 sols August: 59 sols September: 58 sols October: 59 sols November: 59 sols December: 58 sols Every 29 sols there is 1 hour added to the clock due to the fact it uses 24 hours 35 mins rather than 24 hours 37 mins which is the official time yet I see 24 hours 35 mins as more efficient ju…

  2. Hi, The midway point between the largest thing we can see (looking straight outward this is the radius of the visible universe) and the smallest thing we can see (an atom) comes out to equal exactly the radius of earth! median(the radius of the visible universe, size of a carbon atom)=radius of earth median(14,284,800,000,000,000,000m, 10-10m)= 20,518,481m I think that's as weird as it is stupid, LOL! Hello! This is my first post and I only registered to ask this question! If I get cool answers or if people tell me why my theory is silly I'll still be happy and come back to learn more from people. People will probably point out mistakes and that my theories leading up to my conclusion are wrong but here it goes. Since space is infinite, mass is infinite yes? I've had a friend tell me that mass is limited but now he also thinks that mass is infinite. At this point I would like to point out that I have not done any research at all and I do not read about space a lot or watch documentaries about space a lot. Anyways, does this not mean there is infinite c…

Hey! im doing a project on oobleck. i just ran into a bit of trouble. i would highly appreciate some help. I am dropping weights upto 200 grams into the oobleck to find the point at which the impulse(F*dt = mv) is just enough for the weight to rest on the surface for a significant amount of time(say 200 miliseconds). My result is that if 32 gramms weight is dropped from a hieght of 2m then it is just enough impulse(.002) or 1N. I would like to know whether the depth of the oobleck matters for the resistance it provides. also does the temperature matter? Please help me as i need to finish this project asap. Thanks! sorry. the impulse was 0.200352 kgm2s-1

  9. I would very much like to know what people on this website think about peaceful coexistence between those who study our material world (scientists) and those who study our spiritual world (theologians). My attempt to write an essay on that subject failed, as you can see at: http://csam.montclai.../theology3.html The webpage was prepared to generate a discussion. Those who post comments should refer to specific "contributions," as numbered (or to specific persons, as numbered at the beginning). This will simplify the discussion. And let us keep in mind that the main topic is peaceful coexistence. Is it possible? Is it desirable? What should we do promote it? …

I beleive I breathed life into an old concept with the following thought experiment problem. Ok, take a robotic vehicle traveling at one km per hour towards a distant wall just over one km away. The machine is aproacing a starting line drawn on the ground that marks the 1000 meters to the far wall. While the robot is aproaching at a steady crawl, it's powerfull onboard computer is preparing its plan of action to be excuted the instant it reaches the starting line. The plan that is being prepaired is as follows and is about to be exicuted is as follows and will be repeated in a loop as soon as its mission is acheived; a- before reaching the starting point, …

Have you ever been embarrassed because you forgot something important? What kinds of things do you have the most trouble remembering? Imagine yourself beginning to introduce the guest speaker to the audience, but then paused in horror, you had forgotten his name!!! 1-Perhaps you've had experiences like this or you are afraid of having it!!. Mos...t people have, and what's worse, most people have resigned themselves to a life of forgetting. they're unaware of a simple but inmportant fact: Memory can be developped. If you'll just accept that fact, we'll show you how. 2-First, relax. If you're overanxious about remembering something, …

HAVE YOU EVER HAD TROUBLE LEARNING SOMETHING? DID YOU OVERCOME THE PROBLEM? HOW? Have you ever sat in class wondering if you would ever grasp the information that was being taught? maybe the presentation didn't fit your learning style!! Our minds and bodies gather information in different ways and from all around us: seeing, hearing, and doing.... Then our brains process that information, organizing it and making connections to things we already know. This process can also work in different ways: Do we think in pictures or words? Do we remember details or the big picture? When we're trying to learn, it helps to know how our brain wor…

First of all, I would like to be sorry about my bad english. Space, the matter/thing that have been worried humans brains for as long humans have been existed... What is space? Where it ends? How space was created? How the materials for the big explosion got into space (the explosion which started whole space in one theory)? No one can know what is space and how it was actually created, but I would like to ask that how it ends? Whats outside of the spaces giant walls? What the hell is this whole thing we are living in?! Today we know even 24% of all the physics and things there is in space. Thats unbeliveable how much we know. Now you may think that what was t…

Why is it, that everyone has the potential to do or be an icon. I have encountered in my short time, many people who had nothing and became the stuff of history books and records. people who have become generals, entrepreneurs, millionaires, rappers, musicians, presidents, and congressman. But what is it that makes a common man? why would some one with potential to do anything, aspire to be a grocerie man, a truck driver, a box boy, a McDonald manager? What causes man to loose his ambition and settle down with debt, a small house, maybe a car? we all know that we need everyone to make the world go round. we need the baggers, truckers and average workers, j…

I understand somewhat on how electricity is produced in mass quanities. By spinning magnets around copper coils. But my question is this. Whether we use coal or nuclear power is electricity itself an energy that will last forever? Where does it come from? Is it absurbed from the atmosphere or possibly the Earths magnectic field with the end product just being heat? Thus reducing the amount of elctricity that was in the original source? If that is the case it would seem that there would not be an endless supply. So the obvious question is, "are we destroying the Earth"s magnetic field or atmosphere by producing electricity?" Anyone?

I read that dried bones obtain piezoelectric properties, and that it's due to the collagen in the bones. Anyway, how do you get the voltages out of the bones? Are u suppose to connect wire to each side of the bone, and when you apply pressures voltages will jump out on the wire?

I am wanting the details for constructing "Su Sung's clock tower". Ideally the details would be good enough for me to reconstruct the tower. This was a mechanism for measuring time, using dripping water, but also had an observation tower and model of the heavens. Of course such a creation would involve knowledge of math, so whatever is known of the math used at the time would be appreciated. Is there a relationship between Su Sung's clock tower and the Mayan calander, other than a shared interest in the moverments of heaven? I have read, the Chinese I Ching fits perfectly in the middle of the Mayan matrix, and can be used for showing the location of 52 ene…

Was wondering if there might be a connection with sleep disorders such as sleep paralysis with a deficiency in hla-dqb2. I haven't the slightest clue what it could be but a while back I remember being told that there was something off with this "hla-dqb2" when I have blood taken that was needed for an evaluation of reoccurring experiences I had with sleep paralysis. Any info is greatly appreciated.

so i saw this paradox on this website, http://mathforum.org/isaac/problems/zeno1.html , but i don't know what the solution is, or is there a solution at all? A runner wants to run a certain distance - let us say 100 meters - in a finite time. But to reach the 100-meter mark, the runner must first reach the 50-meter mark, and to reach that, the runner must first run 25 meters. But to do that, he or she must first run 12.5 meters. Since space is infinitely divisible, we can repeat these 'requirements' forever. Thus the runner has to reach an infinite number of 'midpoints' in a finite time. This is impossible, so the runner can never reach his goal. In general, anyon…
