Seen any good sculptures made from almonds lately? Note: no other nut-based sculptures may be discussed under threat of the ban-hammer!

Hi everybody! I just noticed that this site has a chatroom. I went into the chatroom, and I saw about 15 people online. I typed a message, and pressed Enter. My message showed up in the chatroom, but nobody said anything. I waited about 10 minutes, and nothing happened. Did anybody see my message, or did I do something wrong?

Usually, a sequel system of the previous one coming, it takes times to scheme and design. As you could see, Sony makes its system come out in an order: PS released in 1994, PS2 released in the March of 2000, and PS3 will be released somewhere of Spring, 2006. I don't know when Xbox was released in US ( at that time, I was not in US). If Xbox was come in 2001, then it is only 4 years that it has its sequel system coming out for Xbox. That is not long. You need quite a while to plan the design, running ability, and graphics interaction with hardware. I think Xbox 360 will probably be another bust; unlike what the reports said: "it will be a successful system." And…

Was it the first, The Matrix...or the second, Matrix Reloaded or the last, Matrix Revolutions. Its a tough call, each of them have a slightly different flavor, and all are a rare blend of sci-fi actions escapism with a dash of philosophy and religon thrown in. If one thing can be said, the directors knew that action is key....keep it coming...and each film ends with a gigantic and spectacular pay off scene. Hugo Weaving deserved an Oscar for his Agent Smith. Not since Emperor Ming in Flash Gordon was their ever a guy who you loved to hate. I just can't make up my mind...though I lean towards Matrix Revolutions, that whole attack on Zion is hard to forget,…

I have a problem about Yahoo messenger. I know you can use member directory to search down who qualify your search terms and who are online. Like I type Japan in the column of location and mark up female in American Online member Directory, there will show a list of members that qualify my searching requisitions. Does Yahoo Messenger has this function, and how? Also that in US yahoo site, can I establish my own chatroom myself? Teach me please.

Teachers and parents never like their children say vulgarities because it will be very rude and uncivilised for them to do so, and some of them have sexual meanings. Is saying vulgarities totally, completely bad? (My phrasing sucks, but I think you know what I mean.)

I've seen this book in a couple of places, and I've been sort of curious about it. Actually, there has been a link to the website on these forums a couple of times. I went there and read the opening chapter, and it seemed not entirely accurate, some contradictions he brought up were misrepresented. Has anyone read it? What did you think about it? Should I get it?

I was reading The Fabric of the Cosmos (okay, listening to the book-on-tape during my drive home...) by Briane Greene. He was explaining how Newton thought about space and absolute-space and brought up Mach's (I believe it was Mach anyway) example about being in a void. Nothing around just a black void, and then you started spinning. Newton explained that once you started spinning your hands would want to move away from your body. Mach didn't think that would be the case, to him it was because if there wasn't anything in space there wouldn't be anything pulling your hands away from your body, no outside gravity. Okay, I can accept that, you need objects to inf…

HARRY POTTER SPOILER...PLS DON"T READ IT IF YOU HAVEN FINISH THE BOOK!!! I don't know why J.K. Rowling always has to kill a character from book four onwards. After reading the book, my friends and I were going "ERM...we were like, so happy that they got the Horcrux and then, TADA, Dumby's dead, and the locket's gone." I know death is inevitable, but...why must there always be a guy who will die at the end of each book? It's like a death ritual or something. o_0

My favourite: Minstrel: song: Bravely bold Sir Robin Brought forth from Camelot. He was not afraid to die, Oh, brave Sir Robin! He was not at all afraid to be killed in nasty ways. Brave, brave, brave Sir Robin. He was not in the least bit scared to be mashed into a pulp. Or to have his eyes gouged out, and his elbows broken! To have his kneecaps split, and his body burned away And his limbs all hacked and mangled, brave Sir Robin. His head smashed in and his heart cut out, And his liver removed and his bowls unplugged, And his nostrils raked and his bottom burnt off, And his peni-- Robin: That's...That's, uh... That's enough music for now…

Let's make a funny comparison: if 1996 Jordon leads his team against the Los Angeles Lakers of 2000 to 2002, who were coached by phil Jackson, which team will have better chance to beat other? I think in the period from 1996 to 1998 was Bulls' prime; and the Lakers' prime was from 2000 to 2002. In fact, both organizations and starting lineups have met pacers that was as the same players. The pacers almost force the Lakers to game 7 in 2000, and they forced Bulls to game 7. When readers hear this, they might think Lakers is better than Bulls under Phil Jackson coaching. But I don't think so. I think Bulls had better attitude toward playing games than the Lakers. The…

(I cannot really remember the riddle now...so I am sorry if I accidentally omit or change some detail of the riddle. Anyway, I read it from Reader's Digest) There is this guy whose mother suddenly faints and needs immediate medical attention. However, when he leaves the house with his mother to get on his car, a friend whom he has never seen for ten years has just dropped by to pay him a visit. Then he sees this gorgeous girl whom he has secretly loved all these years walking down the street. What should he do? Um...feel free to correct the riddle. I think I read this riddle...about a year ago?

Hello, I am part of a group of Masters of Business Administration (MBA) students running a focus group on 'The best 10 questions to ask a visiting alien'. The focus group will include various backgrounds, eg science, medicine, technology, etc. This project is starting from the perspective that a sentient alien lifeform has just made contact with the Earth and the focus group will be developing a list of the most pertinent questions to ask it. To test the validity of our focus response, we would like people from this forum to suggest questions that they would like to ask an alien. While this is a fun and interesting topic, we will be following a serious research me…

When I use the term "creationist" I mean people to which any of the following websites apply: http://www.reandev.com/taliban/ http://drdino.com/ http://emporium.turnpike.net/C/cs/ http://www.icr.org/ http://www.creationresearch.org/ http://www.creationscience.com/onlinebook/ http://www.talkorigins.org/ http://www.answersingenesis.org/ that is just the tip of the iceberg. signs of a creationist(besides the obvious): personal attacks ignoring evidence using flat out lies as evidence using the bible as evidence(bible isn't even a resource in english papers) using a lack of evidence as evidence strawman flame…
