When using Excel to construct Graphs, the line style width always appears as 225. At present I have to change each line to 75 manually; the 'control click' instruction to change all the lines in one operation does not work. I would like to alter the setup so that all lines are drawn at the 75 width, but cannot find how to do so; can anyone help?

Hey Guys My PC works very slow, then I asked from my friend for a remedy for this.. Then he said me a water cooling system to my computer will help in a way. So I surf through internet to buy one. Then I realized its not affordable for me. Then I decided to make my OWN (thats my hobby) But Making the heat exchanger is somewhat difficult to me.. So Its very great full if some of you can tell me an easy way to make a nice water cooling system. If you have any links to video tutorials regarding this, please be kind enough to share it. Thank You. And I'm expecting good reply.

i am scientist and i have data filled with "noise". data is such for x=1 there are set of values of y e.g. for x=1 y belongs to {1,4,6,7,9,18,16,19} and i have 100 such sets each for there respected x values e.g. for x=2 y belongs to{1,5,7,4} for x=3 y belongs to {2,6,4,8,2}....for x=100 y belongs to {2,7,89,4,5} now i want to choose single value from each set of y so that this 100 values together will fit in sinusoidal curve, unfortunately whose parameters are unknown. in other language i have data for x values from 1 to 100, for each x value only one 'y' value is real rest are noise and all this 100 real values of y are in sinusoidal pattern , is any optimization algor…

I am about to finish my MSc in computing science, and I am doubting whether I should take PhD. I want to finish PhD because I love the subject and also because it will help me immigrate to Canada (I am a foreign student at my university). However at the same time I'm little worried that having PhD will lower my job options after the grauation (due to overqualification). I know that there are lots of computer jobs out there that specifies their minimum requirement as BSc in computer science...What are the chance for a person with PhD to get those BSc jobs? If I tell my employer that I will be satifsfied with a (relatively) low wage and that I will not run aw…

Why is it that, in video games, AI that is real-time is easy to defeat, yet AI in turn-based games is virtually impossible to beat? I mean, I've played racing games against AI-controlled cars, and come in first place, yet, when I go online and race real people, I end up coming in dead last. Yet, I find that I have a LOT better luck kicking a real person's ass in Chess than I do a computer. What makes AI take such a 180 in difficulty?

;If you're looking to get good control over the internet,' Think of it as a long road of traffic; you're in a car at the back; and you need to get as far as you can to the front, the speed of which you move, is determined your internet traffic. When you pass cars, you stop, and you reflect back at traffic, blocking the cars behind you, some take over you, and some don't, their internet traffic decreases, and some move forward - as by blocking them, you are taking notice of them. This can be through advertising, or required files, lots of stuff. If you have a good idea, and you find a gap in the traffic, you move up - and then you are in front of differen't people, and…

Is it possible that windows updates can interfere with the stability of your machine? Recently my computer has been experiencing random freezes (ctrl, Alt + Delete doesnt work and there is no cursor movement, basically no access to the system at all and forces me to shut down the computer manually) I also experience BSoD "Driver Power state failure" but only when my computer has been on for some time AND only when I run the shutdown sequence. The Machine will show the "shutting down" screen for about 15-20 minutes then go BSOD and reset itself - once the OS has loaded again a subsequent shutdown will happen almost immediately (about 10 secs) after i've told it to…

Sure, desktops may SEEM cheaper than laptops, but keep in mind that those prices only include the tower, unless the store is having a special. You also have to buy a monitor (a good $100 to $200), a keyboard and mouse ($15 each, for a total of $30), and a set of speakers (another fifteen bucks). This raises the price of a desktop computer, for even basic functionality, by a good $245. These "peripherals" typically come standard on a laptop - physically built into the core laptop itself. So, all else being equal, which is cheaper, overall? a desktop + keyboard + mouse + monitor + speakers, or a laptop?

Hi, I'm currently a PhD student in physics. I've found that some of the most interesting physics happens in animations like those from Pixar, and they do hire people to do such simulations. How would you advise me to get into this field? I had built a vehicle physics engine (in C++) for a commercial game, and I do a lot of programming in research.

I have been using freeservers until I realized that it does not run the kmz file that I need it to. Does anyone know of any website servers where I could create a website that could run these files as well as html files? Preferably free, but any suggestions are helpful.

I'm trying to decide what I want to do with my web development/design/computer skills. I have been coding PHP/MySQL for seven years. I'm 19, a sophomore in college. I don't want to study computer science in college because I want more diversity in my education, so my real question is, OUTSIDE of college, what should I do? I currently make $15 an hour coding, but I am about to transfer to another university where I will lose this job. I really want to combine my skills with another field, like electronics or biology or something. I will be studying environmental science with a concentration in policy and a minor in econ. I'm not sure if I should look for a job at the n…

I have been working on my computing engine for many moons now. I have chosen to adopt COM as a technology to support the infrastructure of my core API. As such I have also chosen to utilize Structured Storage as the method by which I will maintain object persistence. Structured Storage presents much in terms of POD type Metadata and opens up the possibility, at least in my opinion, for an embedded or aggregated system by which Persistence can be driven by Reflection. I have received some flack for my thinking as Structured Storage and OLE isn't intended for use as an intensive Persistence technology. The main advantages I see to doing so is the long term support …

Is there any modern PC or supercomputer design built so reliably that it doesn't ever go "blue screen", crash, or have glitches of a sort (where you must reboot it every now and then)? Or if so...does every computer have a back-up system no matter how flawless its performance?

I installed some forum software on one of my domains and set up a rather impromptu Game Design Forum as it is one of my hobbies and there isn't a Forum which delineates the design process in such a way that is fitting of me! So it has been sitting there for like a month or so now and nobody has joined which is a good thing because I plan on taking it down and installing something of my own design; I might have control issues :/ I had six visitors yesterday.... the reasoning for that is kind of upsetting oddly enough... So I think for me programming the software for this site would be an extremely educational and highly beneficial process. I do believe I will be us…

Just joined the forum, glad I found this site. Looks very informative. To be 100% honest, I have no real history with any sort of programming or anything like it. A few years back, my brother had a "intro to c++ book" which I looked through a little bit, but when he went back to college I gave it up. I'm 19 now, and never really thought about computer science or engineering as a likely path, but it just kinda struck me a few weeks back that I would like to try to learn a little about it, even if it never turns into anything other than a hobby. I know I come across as a complete newbie, and I definitely admit that I am. I have always been kinda the "self-teacher" type.…

Hi, I have a complicated situation. I am signed up for a CS420 course (Data Management Systems) this summer, although I haven't completed 2 of the "prerequisites" for the course which are a 100-level Java course and a 300-level 'Data Structures' course. I am taking the course at a small, 'lower'-level public university so I am assuming the expectations won't be as rigorous as what might be found at a more competitive school. The syllabus can be found here: http://www.wou.edu/~liuj/CS420/hando...Summer2010.doc For those of you who have EXPERIENCE in computer science and have dealt with these basic fields, can you tell me whether it is a really bad idea to go i…

I just re-installed Windows, downloaded a few programs (itunes, firefox, google earth, spybot, and adaware) and updated. I was looking through the processes to get rid of the usuals at start up, like quicktime. I ran into an odd one: crypt32chain, so I googled it. Everyone says that it's spyware, on a brand new install?
