anyone seen it yet? Based on the reviews I've read it was a bit underwhelming.

I went to Matrix 2 this weekend and really enjoyed it. The energy level blows away the first one, and the special effects are outstanding.

 

The idea facing this one is similar to Blike's question on free will. While the fact that NEO is out of the matrix makes him free, if he has a destiny, how free is he?

 

The writers definitely have a interesting perspective on the possibilities of AI and the resulting cause and efffect world.

 

I recommend it for pure entertainment purposes considering it is smarter, faster, and most refreshing to not figure the ending of the movie 10 minutes into it.

 

PS: If you sit through the 8 minutes of credits, they show a 30 second trailer of the third installment to be released in November.

It ends with a to be continued. But I heard other than that it was good. Is the Animatrix any good?

animatrix is pretty cool. you can just download it, about they are all pretty big files.

The second film in a trilogy generally does have a "to be continued" ending.

 

Plus the "Reloaded, Revolutions, May 2003, November 2003" trailers kind of gave it away a bit.

Reloaded is out on DVD in November, just before the 3rd installment.

 

You can almost hear the cash registers. Wait for jarjar binks style person to appear in the third, and a suprise Agent Smith is Neo's Dad end.

...And Morpheus actually is Jesus after all.

My biggest disappointment is that Agent Brown and Agent Jones aren't in this film. still, we will have to see what Agent Thompson is like.

Just got back from seeing it myself, and it is absolutely brilliant - the best film I've seen so far in the past couple of years with maybe the exception of the Two Towers. It leaves you with no choice but to drool and hang on for Revolutions. I get the feeling it's going to be quite a long six months waiting :\

Post the spoiler itself in white so it has to be highlighted in order to be read.

That's too much effort considering anyone really trying to avoid it would be quite dumb top read a forum thread on it that was started after the release date.
