crowd-funding Indiegogo campaign

I saw this http://www.sciencealert.com/this-new-2-50-device-extends-disposable-battery-life-by-800#NowInvent abouta device that extends battery life by 800%,

I thought this was a good little device, and noticed they where going to fund it by "indiegogo campaign later this year.

Do you think this device is worth investing in, and as anyone invested in a crowd funding indie campaign?

The sleeve itself shows promise in allowing consumers to more easily engage with voltage regulation tech. Note you can buy/build a circuit that can do the basics of this at home. Joule Thief is probably the Ur example, if you want to look it up.

Looking at their own patent(which lists a fairly conservative test), listed as the batteries lasting 4-7 times longer. 800% as long is probably out for real world usage.

Keep in mind you could also purchase rechargeable batteries. Sleeve used with different circuitry can help in another way(limiting battery discharge level, extending battery life) but can only help give you that last erg of power when a battery can not be recharged anymore.

Don't think I'll invest in it personally, but backing the development of the technology behind it sounds reasonably worthwhile.

I think it would be also dependent on the devices whether there is a significant boost. I recall that some of the newer generation mice had a cut-off of about 0.6-0.8 V for example. I just need a chart to see how much a battery would be discharged at that point.
