treatment for bladder infections

Featured Replies

Hello, I have a simple question and do not mean to be ignorant, because I am not in the medical field.

Here is the problem. Suppose a patient had a bladder infection and antibiotics could not be used because of allergies. So there would be no easy way to treat their infection.

Or is there. Ultraviolet light kills bacteria and viruses, so if you were to treat the bladder once a month by inserting a ultraviolet light through a cathedore ; making sure to kill the bacteria without burning the bladder.

I don't know what type of device would fit into the bladder. Maybe a fiber optic cable device with a mirror that folds to fit then expands reflecting the light.

I am serious about this. I have never heard of such a treatment. Please tell me if this idea would work.

It is highly improbably that the patient would be allergic to all antibiotics. However, I have heard of using blue light to kill bacteria. It may not be necessary to use UV.

Unfortunately, I know someone who a dose of antibiotics will kill them. There is also a question of bacteria resistance to antibiotics. That is why I want there to be a different treatment.

but in the tissues and the tissue would be susceptible to UV damage and also shield the bugs.

That is a problem I don't have a solution to. Maybe a blue light like Mr. Skeptic said would do better.

Also UV causes DNA mutations and tumors

If treatment was once a month would that be far enough apart for long term damage?

I guess the question I need to ask you guys is how much UV would be needed to kill the bacteria vs how much would damage the tissue.

bladder infections can probably be treated with herbs. but its better to consult health professionals rather than take what I said.

Barley water, that is barley boiled in water, for a while say 15-20mins , until the barley show signs of softening but not soft. optional add small amounts of rock sugar, drink the water after leaving it to cool down for a while.

You can look into herbs like Plantago major. and I think fresh fruits like apples and chinese pears, pineapple may have some effects too. not canned ones.
