[Firefox] Freaky favicons

Weird.

I keep seeing favicons on tabs, seemingly at random.

Sometimes it's an "S", sometimes a "B".

I know these are not part of the site, because they sometimes appear on domains I control.

Anyone know what they are? Are they a feature of some extension I didn't bother to read the documentation for?

I didn't say it was a problem, I just want to know what it is.

I suspect it is something to do with a nav or tabs extension.

Funny.. it gives popular science the Netscape logo.

Ah yes, "N", that was the other freaky one.

What version of firefox are you people using I have no problems

I'm on 0.9.2

What's a favicon?

The icon that appears next to the site name in your favourites/bookmarks, in the address bar, or on a tab.

Because, as I said, they have appeared for domains I control, and I know for a fact there are no favicons stored on those domains and no head attributes that call favicons on any of the pages.

I'm sure there is an underlaying pattern to their appearances, I just haven't figured it out yet.
