[Firefox] Freaky favicons

Featured Replies

Weird.

I keep seeing favicons on tabs, seemingly at random.

Sometimes it's an "S", sometimes a "B".

I know these are not part of the site, because they sometimes appear on domains I control.

Anyone know what they are? Are they a feature of some extension I didn't bother to read the documentation for?

I have had no such problem and I use it all of the time.Your just paranoid.

Don't insult an admin. It's dangerous.

But I certainly wouldn't say you have no problems.

I didn't say it was a problem, I just want to know what it is.

I suspect it is something to do with a nav or tabs extension.

Ah yes, "N", that was the other freaky one.

I'm on 0.9.2

What's a favicon?

The icon that appears next to the site name in your favourites/bookmarks, in the address bar, or on a tab.

Sure and im on crack.

Well then, you'd best seek help now that you've made it public knowledge.

0.9.2 was released the night before I made that warning thread.

Because, as I said, they have appeared for domains I control, and I know for a fact there are no favicons stored on those domains and no head attributes that call favicons on any of the pages.

I'm sure there is an underlaying pattern to their appearances, I just haven't figured it out yet.

If we confirm that everyone that has 0.9.2 has the favicons than theres an increased chance that thats the promblem, because I dont have them and i have 0.9.1

When I had 0.9 the favicons (including SFNs) would appear after I had used a bookmark, but would disappear when I closed out a Firefox window. Since I got 0.9.1 I get no favicons at all.

Mine's seems okay:
