Basically, a VERY simple catapult. One pulls on the pulley which pulls up the lever and the lever launches the load...

 

That's not a catapult, catapults have to have some kind of spring, what you've got there is a trebuchet but you're pulling a rope instead of counterweighting it....

Yes.. I just realized that error.. oops :doh:

 

You want two eye-hooks on the frame, on either side of the arm. Unless the pin is very thick (i.e. about the diameter of the hole) it will tend to slip and fire accidentally.

It's fun until someone loses an eye, and you fling it across the room in your trebuchet. Then it's really fun.
Interestingly enough, this is the origin of the term, "Bull's Eye", named after Bull Holloway, original designer of the Office Under Siege line of products. ;)
