Carcycle

Featured Replies

Someone invent the carcycle. With the transportation capacity of a car, but you pedal it. Like an upgraded version of the Flintstones car. You can advertise it to the environmentalists so that they can reduce pollution. Then the athletes so that they can get a good workout. Also people who want to lose some weight will want to get the good workout. People who want to diminish car accidents will support this, too. It'll make millions. Billions.

Not likely. The concept (and variations on the theme) already exists. If it was popular enough to be likely to earn billions, there would be very many more already.

if i built one, i'd be tempted to put a motor of some sort on it.

They exist. I've seen four-seater contraptions where everybody pedals on the boardwalk in Atlantic city (they were ridiculous), and pedaled rickshaws (basically, a bicycle attached to a rickshaw) are all over Manhatten, especially Central Park. You're not going to see them in the same context as cars, because you have a couple orders of magnitude less power available. Basically, you're talking about a slower, more cumbersome bicycle.

I'd prefer an EV1 from General Motors after watching Who Killed the Electric Car?

How about this?
