My first language is English, and I failed it, along comes AI and I am able to type my poorly written thoughts out in 200 words. I then ask AI to rewrite, All of a sudden I pass English. (I now asked AI to rewrite)

"My first language is English, but I struggled with it in school and even failed the subject. Then along came AI. Now, I can type out my rough, unpolished thoughts in a couple hundred words. After asking AI to rewrite them, suddenly my ideas are clear, structured, and well-expressed. The result? I would actually pass English."

I faced a similar challenge when trying to develop a formula to calculate the proper size of a wheel chock for a wheel resting on an incline. After months of struggling through the math, I eventually managed to reach an answer. Later, I asked AI the same question — and it produced the exact same result in just one second. I believe that if I do the initial work, it is Ok to have the assistance of AI.

You are not doing any thinking and you are not working anything out regarding your written English your Ai is. If I sat Infront of you and spoke to you, asked you questions, debated you on a topic but then read your posts, I could work out this out pretty quickly.

I got AI to rewrite what you said because my English is bad.

"You’re not the one doing the calculations or working through the problem — it’s the AI that’s doing the thinking for you."

yep. I can see your point now.

In this whole task, you were an unnecessary nuisance who could have been eliminated without any harm to the goal.

You didn't contribute anything to the whole process.

You worked out the maths of the inclined wheel, good on you. Do you want immediate answers or do you want to learn something?

Learning is hard, takes time and effort. Ai is great for info like wiki, as a substitute for hard slog it will make you lazy.

I am victim of this using "spellcheck" in "word" and "outlook," twenty years of using this tool has reduced my ability.

Calculators do the same thing, fantastic for quick sums but can you still do this from scratch by hand? How about in your head? Or as an approximation?

And you’ll never get better if you outsource the practice. It’s like asking a computer to go do some sport or hobby. You won’t get any better at it unless it’s you that puts in the effort.

So you no longer need medication for your urinary tract?

Glad we're keeping you amused. You mispelled "independent," btw.

To the contrary, A.I. wants another medicine to stop walking all wet leaving the floor slippery.

You don't know what he was laughing at because Swansont cut out the most important part of the thread..
