Externet Posted March 8 Share Posted March 8 Hi. Are different tree species graft-compatible if one of these classifications coincide ? Or has to be an specific one ? Or more than one ? Or that is not it ? Example: Can Apricots and peaches be cross grafted because both share a bunch of clades and more ? If they coincide in only one of the clades; are they compatible ? npts2020 Posted March 9 Share Posted March 9 You can definitely graft peaches on apricot trees or vice versa but peach trees are one of the harder trees to graft onto. In general, if trees are in the same genus, they are can be grafted to each other. Or more than one ? Or that is not it ? ..there are even plants which you can cut a branch, put it in the water or soil, and it will sprouts roots.. I did it with e.g. chokeberry, gooseberry.
