Only 5 posts allowed on day 1. Fine after. Spammers suck. This protocol helps minimize the annoyance they create. 

What do you mean by “restricted to reply”?

What, specifically, are you doing? Do you see the “submit reply” button on the lower right, below the text box?

I wonder if this has triggered some additional anti bot /anti spam software here.

I have seen some other maths sites swamped by what are clearly repeat posts.
