Will, I think, fail because no man can step in the same river twice, which is what they are trying to do. Do people think this carries any weight? The quote I'm drawing from is, apparently, from Heraclitus.

No, but it's the same god. Problem with Israel is that there are two gods who want it. 

Shame they can't fight it out between themselves without involving humans.

It depends on the context, for instance, I cross the same bridge above the same river every day; but if I'm trying to stamp on that fish I saw yesterday, it may as well be a different river...

"You can't step into the same river twice" is the layman's version of "the configuration of atoms/electrons changes all the time"..
