Note, however, that zero net force doesn't imply it's sitting still.
Just zero acceleration.

Like most human traits, a combination of genes would probably play apart. There is much controversy, however, whether or not politicians and gays want there condition be acknowledged as genetic. It would be treated as a "genetic disease." Becasue there genes would be variant from "normal." Politicians would have no choice but to allow gays have marriages. BEcasue this would be there constitutional right not to be discriminated against as haveing a "genetic disability."
However what person would want something they consider their choice to be called a disease?

Which is why the box stays still, and doesn't move up or down.

Well of course, but seeing how you guys already did a great job of explaining it, I'd thought I'd just add a title to the princibles you're stating. There wasn't much more that needed to be said.

My girlfriends uncle is gay, but you'd never be able to tell. I know a few guys who are pretty flamboyunt, some are amusing some are annoying. Which is just how I find most people. Why do we need a seperate catagory for gays. And why do politicians make such a big issue out of it. (which is how bush won the election btw)

The curved upper surface of an aerofoil accelerates[/i'] the air passing over it, compared to the air passing underneath it. This results in relatively lower pressure above the foil than below it (lift).
AKA Bernoulli's Principle

Is my reasoning right?

I hope that you are performing your experiments under a fume hood and under the supervision of an experienced lab supervisor. Chemistry, although an experimental science, isn't a "hit & miss" science. I don't just walk into a lab and start playing. I need to have objectives, reagent tables, safety information, possible minor reactions/products, etc, etc, all thought out before I walk into the lab.
I doubt they did . You guys must have a pretty trusting school if they leave doors unlocked, without teachers inside. My school would never do that. And playing with chemicals. tsk, tsk. You should know better.

well, a ball thrown at a wall will bounce back at an opposite angle you throw it at. In order to jump up, you first have to push down, against the earth.

Isn't there a gay gene in fruit flies? So why not humans?
edit: besides for the political answer

I have a question about the physical interaction of objects (not physical properties, but forces that move thing), what do we call that?
Do you mean the four fundemental forces? Natural Force, Gravitational Force, Applied Force, and Force of Friction.
Also, what does the third law of motion (action-reaction) have to do with the earth, a wall, a floor, a table and moving through a medium (like air)?In what context?

Yeah, considering your deck is made out of wood anyway. If your house is going to burn a pile of leaves 3 ft high isn't going to make that much of a difference. If it's not blocking an exit from your house it should be no problemo.

I think the fatty acids with the double bonds would melt at a lower temperature. Think of margraine versus oil. Margrine is hydrogenized oil. Meaning it has it's double bonds broken and relaced with hydrogen. The effect is that it stays solid at room temperature, while oil is a liquid. Therefore the molecules with double bonds should turn into liquids at lower temperatures.
Is there a problem with this thinking?

There are some internet connections that use sattelites...though I haven't heard too many good things about them.
I personally have a dsl connection, and I'm quite happy with it. I recently made the switch from 56K. It's a bit faster but it's great to have a constant internet connection. It's a pain to have to dial up everytime you want to get online...it ties up the phones too.

It makes sense to me that this could be done, though I don't know the science behind it. A nuclear reaction does convert matter into energy, so why not the other way around.

I have the origion of species on my bookshelf, waiting to be read, along with Watson's The double helix.

Maybe they only took measurements on cloudy days?

YEah, MRI, and PET scanning have proved this too. But if there is an evolutionary advantage...who knows?

I'm American, but I prefer british spellings (colour and labour especially). Maybe it's the way I talk, but to me it's sounds more correct, phonetically.

Homosexual Gene?
in Genetics

NO, it won't be. But it still would be a genetic "abnormality" and treated as a disease.
I'm saying these things will definately happen, but I'm saying it's a likely route.
