  1. '']If there is no horizontal acceleration how does it move horizontally? Gravity may be acting vertically on it, but the result of it being on a slope means that its acceleration will have both an x and y component.

Because there is still velocity in the x direction. Velocity remains constant in the x...but will accelerate in the y, due to gravity.

  2. that depends on which point of the orbit it is in!

as the earth moves away from the sun it will slow down' date=' until gravity over-rides velocity (or momentum?) and the eath is pulled back towards the sun again for yet another year gone by! [i'](well, almost, the eath would have to complete the orbit for the year, you know what i mean... i hope!)[/i]

It's still accelerating...just in the negative direction.

  3. Well, as you may know, antibodies and other useful goodies are passed along through human breastmilk, as well as some medications, hense the advisory that breastfeeding mothers take warning before doing so when they are on certain meds. I would think that the same applies to cow's milk.

It most certainly does (read the article)

  4. Oh...It certainly is true. Maybe sligthy enflated...but certainly true. I highly suggest everyone read this acticle: http://www.earthsave.org/health/milkletter.htm It's from earthsave...a more highly respected organization, in my opinion.

    Please don't miss this one!

edit: in regards to meat...The average age of puberty droped an average 7.5 years in the past decade. This coincides nicely with *gasp* when they started giving cows hormones. How can these statistics be ignored?

  5. No. The sun, the planets and the moon and stars, and the Earth, all move relative[/u'] to me. I'm fairly certain I am at the centre of the Universe. [/img]

It's Ok, Demosthenes, not everyone on this site is this rude. Jeez guys it's just a theory, don't discount so easily...hear the guy out.

Copernicous was a hated man in his day, but know where all kissing his ass, and wishing we could have been the ones to come up with his theories. So just relax a little.

  6. mmm... which way should I vote. I have very wierd eyes. My left eye is nearsighted, but my right eye is farsighted with an astigmatism.

Until recently it never bothered me, becasue they balanced each other out...but the optometrist wanted me to wear glasses to avoid straining my eyes. So technically I should were them all the time, but I only wore them in school.

Unfortunatly, I lost them in the locker room a couple of months ago. I think the gym teacher found them but I'm too afraid to ask if he did. The guy is huge and very intimidating.

    Anyway...what should I vote???

  7. You appear to be confused. If people say 'I believe in god', I don't say 'lol ure stupid, god doesn't exist', only if they make empirically refutable or logically incorrect statements[/i'] do I argue.

Granted, some people do say really dumb things at times. But that doesn't mean their opinions should be discounted.

    I'm 100% sure.

The whole concept of God is so abstract that his existance is impossible to prove, yet at the same time impossible to disprove. To 100% sure of the noneeistance of God is extremely nearsighted and foolish.

  8. This is generally because religious types are more likely to argue a losing position.

How could anyone have a losing position about their opinion. Thats the problem with thiis forum. Everyone thinks they have the ultimate right answer about everything. Why can't anybody admit they could be wrong or don't have an answer.

Yes, I beleive in God, but I;m not 100% sure. I accept the fact I could be wrong. Why can't anyone else do the same.
