  1. Budullewraagh. I enjoyed the debate with you but since your post brought the attention of moderators it bothered me immensely. I didn't expect you to take it so personal since I felt I was just jabbing you. I'm a spirited and passionate debator and sometimes unsure of my limits. However, you and Tetrahedryte are right, I do have issues with the Koran, Islam, Islamic radicals, Islamic terrorism, Islamic oppression of women, the terrorist groups Hezbollah and Hamas, and things that are just plain evil.

I don't want anyone getting into trouble defending me so cool it please and thanks very much for the defense. There is another forum I belong to with a religious and political section that I post in and I will take my more "spirited" :) comments there. I promise you moderators and administrators that from now on I will take deep breaths before I post in the religious and politic forum and be much more tamed. Thanks for not giving me a warning.

So, budullewraagh, you no longer have to answer my question because I won't be debating anything overly sensitive with either you, or Tetrahedryte again. I just can't do that and risk any more hard feelings.

Anyway, I'm going to play a Multiplayer game now in honor of Pluto.

  2. I really have nothing left to say. I have provided clear data and evidence incriminating Israel and the United States and explaining how Hezbollah gained significantly from the war and time and time again my arguments have been swept under the proverbial rug. If you will not be convinced, so be it. Just don't expect me to continuously reiterate.

You have nothing left to say because you can't back up your statement in post 73 and repeated in post 92. No offense, but the "clear data and evidence" was not there. I don't have a problem with it because you answered it by not answering. ;)

  3. I'm finished with this thread unless budullewraagh wants to back up his statement in post 73... I gave him the sources and asked a question of my own.

This whole "they hide amongst civilians" thing is certainly not common knowledge. I have plenty of reason to believe that this is not the case at all. Prove to me that it is true. Provide sources. Have a blast.

  4. well, considering they snuck into the country and kidnapped these people i would say that's why. didnt they just get all riled up about their soldiers being kidnapped?

There is a big difference between Israeli soldiers being kidnapped and terrorists being captured.

However...... If these people are innocent they should be returned and the soldiers should be held responsible if those innocents are harmed in any way.

  5. Hello

Ou.. look capitol letters. Hey I'll let you in on a little secret. Could have done this for a while' date=' but I chose not to. Why 1: I chose not to comform to how you wish me to be. 2: Helps me get a better picture of the people I'm speaking with.

I noticed complaints about my non-capitol use for some time, and found it amusing. Free thinkers that you are seemed highly threaten by this lack of proper writing structure.

But rules of writing are just conventions, more important is what is written. I claim no great insights into the world, but if you are looking to gain knowledge by conversing with others, you should allow for the fact that others may not choose to or are incapable of writting as you do. It requires some effort on your part.

Of course you can to ignore such people as many do, and you can enjoy and ignorant life.

In all that time done considered that English may not be my native language, or that i may be someone who is handicapped; and must use an input devise where by extra effort is required to manipulate such a devise to switch back and worth between caps and non caps. And no I'm not.

All I heard was why can't you write like us, don't you know how to use proper punctuation (hey must admit not that good at such). If you are trying to form a web site that hopes to encourage conversions with people from different lands and backgrounds. Why maybe you should extend courtesy to allow for mistakes in writing. Often I notice new comers to this site, who by their style of writing are obviously not native English speakers, almost ridiculed not by what they are saying; but by how they are able to convey their ideas.

Give it a try, see if you can understand them. When I read above on this post's topic and writers here say 'I don't understand these people', I can only guess at the effort applied.

Hoping off the soapbox. I shall endeavor to express myself in a more grammatically proper tone in future postings. So not to offer offence to your wondrous sense of propriety. You wild and wacky conformists.

    Mr D Ou... more capitals.[/quote']

I don't care about proper punctuation, capital letters, or how a word is spelled. Some posters may not do well in english and do the best they can.

I just care about making a post easy to read like you did in this post. :)

  6. probably you can get it tomorrow but if not' date=' one of us can describe it---it wouldnt be so difficult to describe the collision.

hey it IS way cool, one of the neatest astronomy observations that's happened all year

I am so proud that I spent some time with Maxim Markevitch (even if it was vacation not science). he's a neat guy.[/quote']

I finally got to see the .mpg movie and read some of the questions posed in the articles. I particulary liked questions 31 and 35 that I pasted below.

....So, the question is: how certain are we that the thing that did the nudging is right there close to the galaxies and not somewhere else? Is it perhaps that there is a unique solution to the bending of light from all the background galaxies, so that it could only be there?

Since you guys ignore the EM force which is 10^39 greater than G I think you guys should wake up! This animation shows exactly what you would expect from an EM Field interaction and the X-Rays would be the natural conclusion. This isn’t Proof of Dark Energy or Dark Matter. It is just the illogical conclusions of people who keep refusing to see the obvious electromagnetic interactions of the Universe. It qualifies more as Garbage In and Garbage Out of a computer simulation than the realization that standard Maxwell interactions predict this and nothing else really does. Of course Red Shifts will not be velocity either. They are simple optical tuning effects in space. That will crank out all of the nonsense of a failing theory.

So, Martin, is what we just witnessed really dark matter?

  7. anybody interested in the DM issue should check this out

and especially watch this movie of two clusters of galaxies colliding

    http://chandra.harvard.edu/photo/2006/1e0657/media/

    scroll down to number 4

where it says "4. Animation of Cluster Collision MPEG | Quicktime"

(it shows what they think really happened to bring about the situation that the Chandra team has been observing)

"Einstein continues to have the last laugh"

I liked that quote. :) Thanks Martin this is way cool.

I can't view the images because I get this..This Account Has Exceeded Its CPU Quota

    I'll try tommorrow.

  8. This whole "they hide amongst civilians" thing is certainly not common knowledge. I have plenty of reason to believe that this is not the case at all. Prove to me that it is true. Provide sources. Have a blast.

I, for one, have already done that in post 53. One of those was from the United Nations humanitarian chief. If that wasn't good enough I can supply you with more. I thought you were just fooling around, being argumentive for the sole purpose of providing material for debate... which is good. But now I believe you really and truly don't have a clue what Israel is going through and again.... I wonder what side your on.

Since you have "plenty of reason" to believe that Hezbollah does not use civilians as shields, could you provide me with some links to back your statement up? Good links, not from UTUBE or Fox.

(Does what I say not stick with you at all?)

  9. looking through sayonaras blog just there looking for part 2 of that creationist thing i seen a suspicious google ad on the page.

  10. budullewraagh....

First, you said you would allow an "unlimited" amount of soldiers/civilians to be captured and now your changing it to aproximately 10. Even with that all your doing is complaining and pointing out what you wouldn't do.

Unless I missed it, nowhere in this thread have you said what Israel should do to protect its people if the bombs and rockets continue to come in. I'm beginning to think (IMO) that your defense is to cut, run, and surrender.

    Bettina

  11. Unlimited if the other option is to suffer even greater losses. Well, I'd have to make a limit if popular support in my nation were to fall significantly. But actually, while not attacking I'd figure out better solutions. I think the obvious no-brainer would be to do everything in my power to avoid civilian casualties if I were to have no choice but attack. Also, excessive destruction of infrastructure would be something else to avoid, unless I were to have enough money to repair said infrastructure. Once again, Israel terribly mishandled the situation they had: they called everyone in southern Lebanon a terrorist and totally ravaged the country while not slowing down Hezbollah attacks. Then they didn't even offer to provide reparations, allowing Hezbollah to do so and win over the hearts of the Lebanese people. What would I have done? I would have waited and formulated a better mode of attack than declaring everything a legitimate target.

Thanks for answering my question. It gives me an insight into your thinking and although I respect your right to differ, I'm glad your not in charge of a nation that is supposed to protect me or any other citizen.

  12. Ok, budullewraagh. I want to play your game and have some questions.

You said you would let your soldiers and civilians get captured and consider it a loss.

How many rockets will you allow to strike Israel each week?

How many soldiers/civilians are you willing to lose each year?

    Bee

  13. Who said they had to make a trade? If I were the Israeli PM I'd rather have two of my soldiers executed than suffer the losses Israel has suffered during this war.

Really.... what about two more soldiers.....then civilians.... etc.

Israel is no better off than they were before- sure' date=' UN peacekeepers will arrive in 10 days but if Hezbollah wants to attack, they will.[/quote']

Wrong. They are much better off as was already discussed in other threads. The world will pass judgement on Hezbollah if they don't behave in front of U.N. peacekeepers.

UN forces certainly are not nearly as effective as the IDF was and the IDF failed miserably at diminishing Hezbollah's attacks.

Have their been any more attacks?

Where are you going with this anyway?

    Bettina

EDIT>>>> oops... others beat me to it.

  14. ...But as long as you brought it up, I also ask you what makes you think that Hezbollah militants hid amongst civilians. It seems a bit farfetched that civilians wouldn't, you know, run away as soon as they heard rockets being launched right next to them. But really, tell me why you think Hezbollah militants hid behind civilians as they shot rockets

Not farfetched if you can make the civilians believe they are being protected by remaining close to the rocket launchers. Some photos even show that Hezbollah also dressed like civilians to blend in. The bottom link comes from the United Nations humanitarian chief...

Terrorists are cowards. Thats why they do what they do.

  15. I'd like to know why you have any reason to believe that Hezbollah is doing anything less their best to help the Lebanese people.

How about starting a war with Israel. Or how about hiding among its civilians when shooting rockets knowing they will be targeted. How about not giving back the captured soldiers instead of watching their country get smashed to bits. That kind of nulifies the goodness they show now.

  16. I don't usually read my dads Popular Mechanics but the issue he just got had a front cover titled "Are we alone". One thing I found interesting was this quote on page 73...

" In 1969 the Apollo 12 crew found a common Earth bacterium had survived for three years inside Surveyor 3's stranded camera... with no atmosphere, no water, no energy or nutrients, and a temperature at minus 400F."

    Cool huh?
