Dark matter
DM is of course what is needed along with the observed matter, that explains the gravitational rotation of galaxies and large scale structure of the universe. It is termed "dark"not because it is non luminous but because we are ignorant at this time, as to its nature. It is thought by many to be some unknown form of non baryonic matter, that interacts only via gravity, and that is evidenced by the bullet cluster anomaly.... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bullet_Cluster Other thoughts are microscopic or primordial BH's that may have formed just after the BB. https://www.scienceforums.net/topic/126284-primordial-black-holes/

Alien origin thought experiment.
That's nice, and all well and good, but again you fail to comment on the gist of my post, which was... In other words answer the question or the gist of the OP. You know, like I showed you. Training?? You of course mean learning, and that which I do everyday, without being so open minded that my brains fall out. Yep, as I have said many times...the two great barriers are time and distance.

Alien origin thought experiment.
Most likely the case, sure, but even one or two advanced civilisations per galaxy and the numbers are well staggering.

Do angels have wings ? Were they created with wings ? Or an illusion people saw ?
Nice!!!Beelzebub/Satan/Lucifer I thought were one and the same. (I won't mention the Greek Angel again)

JWST Launch Date Next Week:
https://phys.org/news/2021-12-hubble-telescope-bigger-powerful-successor.html Hubble telescope's bigger, more powerful successor to soar: The Hubble Space Telescope's successor is a time-traveling wonder capable of peering back to within a hair's breadth of the dawn of the universe. And it's finally on the brink of flight. It will be the biggest and most powerful astronomical observatory ever to leave the planet, elaborate in its design and ambitious in its scope. At a budget-busting $10 billion, it is the most expensive and also the trickiest, by far, to pull off. Set to soar after years of delay on Friday, the James Webb Space Telescope will seek out the faint, twinkling light from the first stars and galaxies, providing a glimpse into cosmic creation. Its infrared eyes will also stare down black holes and hunt for alien worlds, scouring the atmospheres of planets for water and other possible hints of life. more at link.............................

Not arguing with that point, as I have forgotten much of my Catholic upbringing, but wasn't it said that Micky the archangel appeared to Mary and said, "Hail Mary full of grace, the Lord is with thee, blessed art thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus"....or was that Gabriel? Forgot then what Micky was known for and what appearence he made. The other archangel of course was the fallen one, Lucifer.

Alien origin thought experiment.
Why not just answer questions or aligning with the thread subject? Like this from page 1.... "I'm with an advanced civilisation from another planetary system. Perhaps the "human resemblance" evolutionary process, is simply the most favoured to reach advanced intelligence and associated abilities. What I mean is that while an Octupus is obviously "intelligent" it is still confined somewhat by its evolutionary path. I pick a civilisation from another planet simly because of the "near infinite" extent and content of our universe, and the stuff of life being everywhere we look." (notice how it answers and follows the exact OP request/subject matter) It seems to me that all you do is sit back and try and pick other ideas apart, without any real alternative. Like I said previously, I'm not here for you to practice your hairy fairy philosophy on...which I reject mostly anyway. ps: I also dont believe that you are lack the training to be more articulate. In fact, if the truth was known, you have probably had more then I.

I prefer the man from Krypton! Up, up, and awaaaay!!- Why UAP's, UFO's (presuming they are Alien controlled) are a threat but don't have to be
Last year a report was released on UFO's/UAP's https://interestingengineering.com/government-ufo-report-military-taking-it-seriously It was of course nothing more then the same old, same old, in that some sightings are unexplained/unidentified at this time. Nothing new here. But there was I believe one factual assumption, that was while these so called "incursions" into a nation's air space, in the manner that they are/have been happening, ( you know, mysteriously flittering in and flittering out again, kidnapping individuals and conducting medical experiments etc) they can be seen as a threat to national security, due to their unknown nature. If they are Alien controlled, and that obviously would be by an advanced species, why are they continuing with such behaviour? Why not make their presence known? As per my reasonings in the other Alien thread, I don't really see them for seriously wanting of anything, and if they did, why not land, make their visitation known to us, and ask or negotiate. We could even continue as partners in a shared space-faring exploratory vane. As per for example, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yIp2huYgD8 Obviously that isn't happening because so far all we have been witnessed to, is unidentified and unknown phenomena. There is also reports that more "classified information"will be released next year...https://interestingengineering.com/scientists-will-release-3-terabytes-of-new-ufo-data-in-2022 My prediction, nothing new and again, the same old, same old. The sensationalists claims that some or all of these are Alien incursions is dealt with far more scientifically with SETI....https://en.calameo.com/read/0048123637a4a64903b14 https://www.seti.org/press-release/uap-story-seti-institute-weighs "So, while the UAP investigation relies on the interpretation of chance observations, SETI relies on deliberate experiments. There is a vast divide in the assumptions made for the two activities, and they are fundamentally dissimilar. Will the first compelling evidence of extraterrestrial intelligence be found in the atmosphere of our planet, or in the hundreds of thousands of star systems that pepper the nearest reaches of our galaxy? We still don’t know. But if the pending government report indicates that there is a possibility that at least some UAPs might, indeed, be of extraterrestrial origin, then perhaps there will be an effort to pursue their study using the precepts of well-designed science experiments". :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Like SETI, I believe we are probably not alone in this universe and that advanced intelligence exists somewhere, sometime. Like those at SETI and most scientists, I accept that as yet, we have no real concrete evidence of ETL anywhere, anytime. Like those at SETI and most scientists, I suspect that the first real evidence of ETL, will be some simplified organism or such, and not any advanced species. Like those at SETI, the great barriers between interstellar and/or intergalactic contact are time and distance. Just my 5 cents worth on this topic.- OT from Do angels have wings ? Not all Angels are made in Heaven. This one was made in Greece, the Archangel Nana......- Dark Matter:
Thanks for that. While you have made some good points, we are seeing GRB's every day, and FRB's also.......https://www.space.com/gamma-ray-burst.html "Gamma-ray bursts also seem to focus their energy in a narrow beam, rather than emitting it equally in every direction, meaning that our satellites are missing many of them. Astronomers estimate that, although satellites spot about one gamma-ray burst per day, roughly 500 are occurring within the same time period. So far, gamma-ray bursts have only been detected in distant galaxies". https://www.google.com/search?q=how+many+Gamma+ray+bursts+have+we+seen&rlz=1C1RXQR_en-GBAU952AU952&oq=how+many+Gamma+ray+bursts+have+we+seen&aqs=chrome..69i57j33i160.13448j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8 How many gamma ray bursts are there? "Astronomers estimate that, although satellites spot about one gamma-ray burst per day, roughly 500 are occurring within the same time period. So far, gamma-ray bursts have only been detected in distant galaxies. However, it is possible for one to occur in our Milky Way galaxy".- Alien origin thought experiment.
I see that as a near certainty. +1- Alien origin thought experiment.
In the 60's and 70's I was deeply engrossed in Arthur C Clarke and Isacc Asimov, and was ignorant of Anvil and Pandora's Legions..... https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/589014.Pandora_s_Legions Perhaps worthwhile considering reading. (if any copies are available)- Dark Matter:
DM is as yet an unknown form of matter that is needed to explain anomalous rotational curves of galaxies, as well as structual galactic formation in general. Without it, means that our whole picture and theories about gravity is wrong. That is viewed as unlikely as it works so well in all other aspects...hence the unknown missing non baryonic mass hypothesis. In actual fact the name DM is more an expression of cosmological ignorance then anything else, much as the old ancient cartographers often marked unknown regions of the world at that time, as "terra incognita" The best observational evidence we have for non baryonic DM, is the bullet cluster anomaly. Some of the missing mass is baryonic and simply stellar remnants and failed stars, that emit little or no radiation. Recently I reproduced an article here...https://phys.org/news/2021-12-black-holes-immediately-big.html with regards to micro BH's or primordial BH's. This has me wondering if it maybe the answer to the missing mass problem. So what I need is for someone to convince me that this cannot be the case, or at best simply highly unlikely. The very early universe, post BB (the first three minutes) was a chaotic violent place, and there existed only our most fundamental basic sub atomic particles. Is there any reason (not stated in the article) why micro and primordial BH's may not be the missing mass?- Warp drive theories
No, it's a WAG hypothesis.- Warp drive theories
Is that right? What evidence leads you to that conclusion? Or is this just another WAG?- Alien origin thought experiment.
Whatever floats your boat my friend. Like I have remarked before, I'm certainly not the first to comment on your rather weird/cryptic posting manner, and it looks like we can add hypocrisiy to those qualities. I reject your delusions of reasonable questions not being answered, as I reject your philosophy. *yawn* waiting for the next brainwave comeback!🤮- Warp drive theories
That's the biggest doozy of all!- Alien origin thought experiment.
And while certainly time and distance are the two great barriers making interplanetary contact difficult, (but not impossible) we can be damn sure no advanced species exists within our system (besides ourselves)- Alien origin thought experiment.
Ignoring the trolling and nonsense, it has been an interesting thread....Back to my first post where I said....... "I'm with an advanced civilisation from another planetary system. " On 6/19/2021 at 1:17 AM, Moontanman said: I chose time travelers due to the resemblance the reported entities have to humans. I wouldn't expect aliens to resemble humans so closely. " Perhaps the "human resemblance" evolutionary process, is simply the most favoured to reach advanced intelligence and associated abilities. What I mean is that while an Octupus is obviously "intelligent" it is still confined somewhat by its evolutionary path. I pick a civilisation from another planet simly because of the "near infinite" extent and content of our universe, and the stuff of life being everywhere we look. :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: I still favour that position rather then time travellers for the resons given.- Alien origin thought experiment.
So why the continued hypocrisy? Think about it.- Alien origin thought experiment.
PS dimreeper: just one more small thing...earlier you said, and you then go on about....... Time again for Rememebr we are talking about advanced Alien species- Alien origin thought experiment.
🥱 Anything exisitng, all elements, compounds etc need stars in the first instant. Let me give you the hint again.....We "were all born in the belly of stars". Carl Sagan. Sure, I'm talking about, as most here are, intelligent life, and how mathematics could probably be the first interactions between them and us...not any life, and certainly not your silly red herrings that are not relevant. When I meet one of your light absorbing, fabricated Aliens, I'll ask him. Now excuse me, *yawn* https://www.space.com/38449-how-would-we-talk-to-aliens.html "Most thinkers, including famed astrophysicist Carl Sagan, agree that mathematics could serve as the foundation for our discussions. With that in mind, British scientist Lancelot Thomas Hogben rafted a language system called Astraglossa. Communicated over radio signals, short pulses called "dashes" would represent numbers, and longer batteries of pulses called "flashes" would represent mathematical symbols like addition or subtraction. Once the basics of arithmetic are established between our species, Hogben imagined moving the discussion on to astronomy, a hobby we would obviously both have in common. After all, two aliens species talking about space would probably be like two Earthlings talking about the weather". https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arecibo_message This is a demonstration of the message with color added to highlight its separate parts. The binary transmission sent carried no color information. ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::- "primordial black holes."
https://phys.org/news/2021-12-black-holes-immediately-big.html Did black holes form immediately after the Big Bang? How did supermassive black holes form? What is dark matter? In an alternative model for how the universe came to be, as compared to the 'textbook' history of the universe, a team of astronomers propose that both of these cosmic mysteries could be explained by so-called "primordial black holes." Nico Cappelluti (University of Miami), Günther Hasinger (ESA Science Director) and Priyamvada Natarajan (Yale University), suggest that black holes existed since the beginning of the universe and that these primordial black holes could themselves be the as-of-yet unexplained dark matter. The new study is accepted for publication in The Astrophysical Journal. MORE AT LINK................ The paper: https://arxiv.org/pdf/2109.08701.pdf Exploring the high-redshift PBH-ΛCDM Universe: early black hole seeding, the first stars and cosmic radiation backgrounds. ABSTRACT: We explore the observational implications of a model in which primordial black holes (PBHs) with a broad birth mass function ranging in mass from a fraction of a solar mass to ∼106 M, consistent with current observational limits, constitute the dark matter component in the Universe. The formation and evolution of dark matter and baryonic matter in this PBH-ΛCDM Universe are presented. In this picture, PBH DM mini-halos collapse earlier than in standard ΛCDM, baryons cool to form stars at z ∼ 15 − 20, and growing PBHs at these early epochs start to accrete through Bondi capture. The volume emissivity of these sources peaks at z ∼ 20 and rapidly fades at lower redshifts. As a consequence, PBH DM could also provide a channel to make early black hole seeds and naturally account for the origin of an underlying dark matter halo - host galaxy and central black hole connection that manifests as the Mbh − σ correlation. To estimate the luminosity function and contribution to integrated emission power spectrum from these high-redshift PBH DM halos, we develop a Halo Occupation Distribution (HOD) model. In addition to tracing the star formation and reionizaton history, it permits us to evaluate the Cosmic Infrared and X-ray Backgrounds (CIB and CXB). We find that accretion onto PBHs/AGN successfully accounts for the detected backgrounds and their crosscorrelation, with the inclusion of an additional IR stellar emission component. Detection of the deep IR source count distribution by the JWST could reveal the existence of this population of high-redshift star-forming and accreting PBH DM. - OT from Do angels have wings ?
