  1. KS42, What are those findings you referenced? Be specific. Right now, all I can see is that you are promoting your website, and I'm confident that is not the case. What findings?
  2. Try hitting the Quote button instead. Alternatively, you can manually program the quote, such as this: You then reply to that portion of the post here. After that, you quote the next bit: Just copy my text above and give it a whirl. I'm lazy, and your post above took too much work to figure out with all of the ************ and non quotes, so I'm genuinely trying to help you figure out the formatting bit so we can instead focus on the content bit. Cheers.

I find the whole situation rather disturbing, really. While I do chuckle once or twice at our reaction to the intelligent and biting rebuttals we are presented, on a much deeper level I find it rather depressing that such movies are made, and further, that audiences for them still exist in the year 2008. Oh well. Natural selection applies to ideas as well, so perhaps my disheartenment will not be chronic.
  4. I'd like to try that second option for myself before coming to any conclusions. Where do I sign up?
  5. I have always been sincere in my requests. Please do try to refrain from further speculations and conclusions about my motivations, and instead focus on the posts themselves. Thanks. I do tend to have a high standard for sources, and to a point of frustration SLance has made about me in the past is that I often don't find sources good enough to justify the conclusions being drawn from them. In this case, I perhaps too quickly disregarded his link (I usually won't bother with anything not stamped with a dot edu or a dot gov). I've now had a closer look. http://www.antarcticconnection.com/antarctic/weather/snow-ice.shtml And this was kind of interesting too:
  6. What about water distillation technology in an arid climate? It might not be too relevant, but here's what made me think of it (a five minute interview after you get past the initial 30 seconds of humor): http://www.comedycentral.com/colbertreport/videos.jhtml?videoId=164485 Vapor compression distilling? How cool is that?
  7. I am SO very tired of doing this with you, and I can only imagine how tired others are... I denied nothing. I simply asked you to support with citation the issues you blanketly claim to be "patently correct." I do not understand how you are still missing this point. Further, in this specific thread, all I did was ask questions which would elevate the conversation and add to all of our common understandings. Being forced to defend yourself and being asked to supply citations and/or address questions are not one and the same, so please get off your soapbox already.
  8. Okay. I'm still confused. What exactly am I being accused of being hypocritical about?
  9. I've got a bridge I want to sell you...
  10. Ughhh... Do you make predictions? If not, it's a hypothesis, not a theory. http://www.scienceforums.net/forum/showthread.php?t=31331
  11. You seem to have missed my post, #14 this thread, where I explicity addressed this, so if your post here was directed at me, you appear to be misrepresenting my actual position and arguing against that misrepresentation. Granted, I don't accept his comment about the engineering of AIDS as true, nor 9/11 being an inside job, but I do accept the root of those concerns as true (where black people have lacked similar care and benefits, and where we pissed off enough people in the world to generate the attacks, etc...). Either way, though, I hope that you will review what has actually been said in this thread before again choosing to rant like that.
  12. Yes, if you are rotating and have no cues to air resistance then you need the balance system to sense direction. You should probably try to learn more about balance before asking such quesitons. It has more to do with fluid in the inner ear and how that fluid presses against tiny little hairs called cilia resulting in a neural cascade to our autonomic systems... It's much more than what allows us to walk across a narrow beam, it's also what gives us bed spins after drinking too much alcohol.
  13. There isn't. There's no such thing as absolute time. The difficulty you are having accepting this seems to be at the heart of your confusion. There is no absolute time.
  14. Riogho, This consistent pattern of yours on SFN where you post something as factual, something presented in the absolute, which then someone asks you to elaborate about or post a source to support, and you then respond by saying that they should google it or that you don't know where you read it... It's really getting rather tiresome. If you can't support it, don't say it in the first place. If you say it, be prepared to support your comments in the face of challenge and inquiry. Fair enough?

And for anyone curious to read the response of Dr. Dawkin's after being let in, he sums it up quite nicely here in an article he published yesterday: http://richarddawkins.net/article,2394,Lying-for-Jesus,Richard-Dawkins
  16. Yes, but the concept of balance itself would be vastly different. The balance would develop, but would not be equipped at all to deal with Earth's gravity. This does not mean, however, that it's not balance in it's given context.
  17. I think you have to pay $250 for those before Vanna will go turn/touch them on the board. I'd like to solve the puzzle.
  18. This seems strangely self-referential and circular. Can you elaborate? Is time just the name you've given to your car?
  19. That's definitely a matter of interpretation, Dak. I think a) they scared white people, and b) he suggested that 9/11 was an inside job which rattled a lot of hornet's nests on an already overly-emotional issue. I find it rather silly myself, but IMO, my two points are the primary areas of concern. Those then evolved into "What if Obama believes that too!" and now we find ourselves still discussing this ridiculous distraction from the issues.
  20. Quite simply: Our freedom to have them, and not be forced to challenge a stupid ban which would be ineffective and unenforced anyway. You want to remove one of my freedoms? You want to prevent me from caring for a canine of the type I wish by legislating an outright ban? You'd damned well better make a better case than "they killed 66 people in 20 years."
  21. Okay, it looks like we're back to disagreeing again. You seem to believe that there is a god judging each of us, and controlling the universe. I do not, but I'm strangely not limited in the manner you suggest when viewing the actions of others... I'm somewhat more complex and intelligent than "unable to view my actions as anything other than my trying to manipulate you in order that I might experience as much of the world as I can, and at your cost".
  22. My own somewhat ignorant stance on the issue is that the entire concept of "hollow" is meaningless when taken at the scale of the particle. AFAIK, It's like asking if the space between the earth the sun is hollow.
  23. I believe you've quite missed my point, sir. I asked specific questions with the intention of reviewing specific sources and claims, to which you decided to reply using unfounded speculation and unsupported premises. There's really no need to engage in the ad hominem attack suggesting that I am not an adult. I apologize that you dislike the nature of my challenges to your position, but the challenges are quite valid all the same. It appears again that you've presented a position which you are not able to support.
  24. It appears that this approach is beginning to work, but his comments still disgust me. This post will be the first on a new page. Physia posted immediately prior to this on the last page. He really should learn the saying, "Better to be silent and thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt." Unless, of course, that religion is Islam, eh? You are so internally inconsistent it's laughable.
  25. Just so you know, it was exactly where I ended your quote above that I stopped reading.
