  1. i actually read it in a magazine, bbc's "focus" number 162 in the mind hacks section if you have access to them. it had a memory test, a list of words, you memorise them then write them down on a separate page. people invariably write a particular word that's not on the list. The list is designed to call that word as a "false memory" i'll try to find an online equivalent. failing that, i can always scan it.
  2. i was under the impression that speed was relative to a medium (space) and that relative velocities can be up to 2c but the relative momentum is always <C. in newtonian physics momentum p = mv is relativity, p = gamma (mv) so when the two momentums are added together and converted back, some how the momentum tells us that 0.5c + 0.5c = 0.8c this has been discussed better else where.
  3. suppose you time dialate one particle of a quantum entangled pair... surely you could have one travelling at a really high speed for a set time, enough for the other to have experienced more time. a change to one would effect the other at a time as experienced by the particles not by the observer. The effect of which would be the effect happening before the cause, relative to real time but the particles are sharing a quantum state which is across time i think you need to think in five dimensions for this one
  4. aye im Brett im still in high school and enjoy discussing any thought provoking concept. i can answer most questions relating to almost anything physics or mahtematics related. (complex formulae excluded) im currently into mountain biking and soccer. being a nerd in a past life helps in all aspects
  5. most people think the brain stores every second of life somewhere. not quite true, the brain encodes information as links to other ideas and experiences so you can recall the main points and peice together an equivalent image later. if you only caught a quick glimpse of the plate the first time you saw it, your memory might not have enough information to put the image togther properly in your mind, so the memory might make the image, upside down for example. the second time you saw it, you would have been paying more attention. even looking straight ahead, you can have that effect. if the brain doesnt get all the information it needs, it'll make up something weird when you try to decode it again. happens a lot to me.
  6. i've seen the capacitor-motion idea being used with relation to the philedelphia experiment (the wierd one with the ship) apparently the guy who first discovered it said it was caused by a high voltage across a dielectric, he said that the stronger the insulative properties, the stronger the force. is this the one with the "gravitophotons"? you might find it via google and "heim theory" i've seen some papers but dont get the math.
  7. that's awesome, i've also seen a demo where styrofoam beads stand in vertical waves determined by harmonics in a tube, i'll try to find a vid

this is another patent for a welding device, filed by Dennis Klein, http://patft.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parser?patentnumber=6,689,259 it doesnt explain the hho gas though i was wondering, could hydrogen potentially have a negative charge? it would still have a noble gas orbitals. i also read somewhere that H3O ions have been detected in common water in quanties in the order of parts per trillion. i would expect these ions to have quite a lot of excess energy. i think the reaction of hho is self sustaining, but requires a catalyst to reach high temperatures, i'm probably wrong. however, consevation of energy would say, this is faked. just because theres a patent doesnt mean it works, i've seen patents for gravity produced by static electricity in high voltage capacitors. as for a cold nossle, a flame from a propane aerosol doesnt light back to the nossle, the flame front has a maximum speed which is exceeded by the propane jet at the nossle, so the nossle stays cold.
  9. The mind doesnt record information, it only stores enough to re-create the memory on demand. If you caught a glimpse of the plate in a mirror but didnt immediately realise it, you might look again, knowing that it's a reflection. It often happens when you have your mind set on a task, you dont see the whole picture untill you look for it.
