  1. Johns Hopkins is where faf would like to go. Pretty stiff competition there.
  2. Hows organic? It has a reputation of being rough, but I've heard its not so bad from some people..
  3. I wanted to go to the Navy and go through a medical program there. I've heard they pay for your medical education (or part) in return for service after you recieve your medical degree. However, I have idiopathic urticaria(hives for no reason). I figured I probably wouldn't pass the physical. I can hide them when I take medicine, but I'm sure they would inquire about my medicine.
  4. I'm in for gen chem II this semester, and organic next spring. Is physical chem part of your major requirements?
  5. Wow, MCATs already . What medical schools you want to go to? Any specific one, or wherever takes you ?
  6. No, not at all. I was just wandering if you were in highschool chem or in college. Sounds like my gen chem class last semester.
  7. Nice to meet both of you Glytch, what kind of modeling? I started to learn 3DSM a few years back, but my interests changed. Some of its harder to learn than programming. I never really got into maya and lightwave, but some of my friends created some beautiful sequences with those programs. I modeled some weapons for a half-life mod I was working on. However, due to my lack of programming skill, the project fell through. I used to map in worldcraft for counter-strike(HL mod), don't know what people are using now. What games you map for?
  8. Yea, there was a prophecy about a bearded god who would return to the land. The prophecy even gave the exact year, which was coincidentally the year the spanish arrived. Just read about that in history, had the urge to comment
  9. What is everyone's age and occupation(or what you spend most of your time doing)? I'm 19 and a sophomore at USF. I do some volunteer work and hope to go to medical school.
  10. What skeptical thinking boils down to is the means to construct, and to understand, a reasoned argument and - especially important - to recognize a fallacious or fraudulent argument. The question is not whether we like the conclusion that emerges out of a train of reasoning, but whether the conclusion follows from the premise or starting point and whether that premise is true. -Carl Sagan
  11. No way, we could use remote controlled rats to sneak into enemy camps and spy

    Ghosts?

What do you guys think about ghosts and "orbs". Scientifically explainable phenomenon? Or genuine spiritual activity..
  13. Just remember Zarkov, us mods can see IPs
  14. Alright, heres the deal: Zarkov, you may continue posting. Your ideas are welcome, just no personal attacks. That goes for everyone. The beauty of a forum is that you're not forced to read a post if you disagree, or you can state that you disagree and why. However, if you do so, please do so in a respectful manner. If you're going to debate, debate the idea, not the person. Just remember, a debate doesn't have to include attacks on ones personal characters. Any questions or complaints you can PM me directly.
  15. More like he won the race to marketing his OS. Other people(apple) had similar OS, bill gates was just a good business man. Good business = good money. He could spend a million bucks a day till the day he died, and still die a billionaire. :/
  16. How fast is the "speed of gravity"? Is it the speed of light? Instantaneous?
  17. NewScientist is reporting on a quantum gyroscope that could reveal Universe's spin..
  18. Yea, i've noticed the same thing. When I pick zits and they bleed, they bleed for like god damn 10 minutes. However when I prick myself or cut myself, it bleeds for a very short period of time.
  19. Somewhat, I havn't seen the older series in awhile. I'm a fan, but not an addict um.
  20. True, he gave us the greatest thing of our time; the internet
  21. Kip Thorne (j ust to be different from faf )
  22. Alright, I looked it up and its commonly referred to as "MHD Propulsion". Basically they use superconducting magnets that create a very powerful magnetic field that can create water movement through an enclosed tunnel and use it as propulsion. This process requires no moving parts. At present, however, there are no submersable vessels that are equipped with this technology (or maybe there is, and the government just isn't telling anyone). The japanese have an experimental ship called "Yamato" that is equipped with this. Keep up your interest in science
  23. Einstien's theory of special relativity says nothing can travel faster than the speed of light. BUT, special relativity only applies when space time is flat. So, for example, could a ship be built that bends space time around the ship, and therefore allowing faster-than-light travel relative to an outside observer?
  24. Alright, I got in the shower this morning, and I noticed something interesting. Whenever I turn the shower on, the shower curtain is pushed toward the water. At first I thought maybe it was because the air conditioning vent behind it was blowing it in, but then I realized there was no air conditioning vent in the bathroom. Also, when I turn the water off, the shower curtain returns to its normal position. Anyone else experienced this? What causes it?
