  1. i know but thats what my processor clocked down to when my heatsink was loose.
  2. starins don't really apply to humans because we don't reproduce by osmosis(the cell spliting thingy, yes you spotted i'm not a biologist). to define a race we must look at the accepted definitions:(source dicionary.com) race1 n. 1. A local geographic or global human population distinguished as a more or less distinct group by genetically transmitted physical characteristics. 2. A group of people united or classified together on the basis of common history, nationality, or geographic distribution: the German race. 3. A genealogical line; a lineage. 4. Humans considered as a group. 5. Biology. 1. An interbreeding, usually geographically isolated population of organisms differing from other populations of the same species in the frequency of hereditary traits. A race that has been given formal taxonomic recognition is known as a subspecies. 2. A breed or strain, as of domestic animals. 6. A distinguishing or characteristic quality, such as the flavor of a wine. Basically to round them all in a race can be defined as a group of people. You could use any trait or feature to classify a new race. eg. people with long necks could be said to belong to the race longus neckus (i made that up but you see where i'm coming from).
  3. any evidence to back your theory up? it has a lot of work to be done on it if you want to get it into the mainstream. Why do stars need a source of energy? can they not make the energy by fusion like most(the reputable ones) scientists and astronomers believe?
  4. the third pin has also saved mylife a few times like when i tried to fix the toaster when it was on(what a stupid mistake that was!)
  5. why the hell would you not have a switch on the socket?? seems a bit silly considering that the switch has saved my life numerous times.
  6. my P4 clocks down. NEVER run xp at 100Mhz
  7. err... i've seen a ladder with 3 legs. but i get what you mean.
  8. i hope you don't expect us to give you the answers, you're supposed to work them out for yourself. a)this is obvious it is just trigonometery <--- BIG hint! b) equations of motion c) equations of motion d) equations of motion now go try them for yourself.
  9. its not difficult to cut power to the transformer. its a mysteriour device called a "switch" they are usually found on the wall sockets already! you just push the top part and the electricity ceases to flow. Amazing isn't it.
  10. matbe something will pop up from quantum mechanics. its like a whole scifi world down at that scale.
  11. the observations are consistant with relativity. counter-intuitive, yes. wrong, no. it is the twins paradox just with another person flung into the mix. (the triplets paradox? )
  12. 1 word: bicycle. 15 miles isn't far on a bike. you can do it in about 50 mins at a relaxed pace. i usually "cruise" at around 20 mph. and guess what! No petrol/diesel required! if you had to go 50 miles then a car would definately be a better option. i'm definately getting a hydrogen car when they become reasonably cheap. you could make the fuel yourself.
  13. i believe this has already been used for experiments on plants in space. its not really a new idea.
  14. that is called making a graph. if it could simplify theoretical physics it would have been done. in some branches of theoretical science graphs are made and can help with experiments where you need to compare predictions to results but are only useful in the latter stages.
  15. yeah but it just seems like another thing thats ruined by dumbing it down. you can see it in T.V., movies and newspapers(except most broadsheets).
  16. is it just me or are the weather shows in britain dumbing down quite a lot. i just kind of noticed just now that i haven't seen a single isobar chart on tv for over 3 years. and today, on a whole map of britain there were 3 symbols(one in Wales and 2 in England). Scotland and Ireland were completely missed out. WTF is this all about. I usually use the met office website anyway.
  17. jelly is a good target only make sure you have lots of it. get an old bathtub from a scrap yard and fill it full of jelly and take a few shots. i got an air rifle just for shooting cans but now my parents want me to get rid of it since the law is changing.
  18. it is actually possible to build one at home. i have seen it done and heard it fired up(although i was 1 1/2 miles away)
  19. "151 countries, one insane alien" - heehee "Wait Till We Get Our Insane Alien On You." - i love this one. me thinks a sig.
  20. Anguilla - it comes from seawater how can you monitor it you can get it from you taps as well. its only a matter of separating it. you can even buy keyrings with tritium in it. its really not too hard to get just time consuming on a small scale such as garden shed.
  21. martillo we have showed you that you are wrong because you made anerror in your calculations. Whether it was intentional or not is irrelevant we pointed out the mistake and you dismissed it purely because you have the idea that your calculations are perfect stuck in your head. just listen to us we only want to help.
  22. How can ionic bonds make molecules go away? a covalent bond will join 2 atoms together with the sharing or electrons. ionic bonds are electrostatic attractions between 2 or more atoms, where is the going awayness? nice analogies, they will stick with me the rest of my life.
  23. try using the declaration of independance. i've seen it used before. you take the number and look up the corresponding word. eg 86 = whatever the 86th word in the declaration is.
  24. i take it you are in the northern hemisphere like me. the earth is in a position on its orbit where the axial tilt is pointed towards the sun therefor we receive more intense light which gives us more energy per square meter making it hotter.
  25. why can't they just jump off a tall building like everybody else. you can't be jailed for suicide.
