    1st off i watched this about space and the scientist came to the conclusion that at the Center of EVERY Galaxy is a Super Massive Blackhole that has 3 billion times the mass of the sun how can they say that about every galaxy and i thought blackholes had infite mass, density and infinite gravity??......... 2nd.     The question I would like to pose and is, does a source of gravity have an effective or practical range within our current expanding universe? Here is my logic. If gravity implies GR, GR will cause a contraction in space-time that decays with distance from the object. The universe is also in motion, with many objects moving at relativistics speeds. This SR will also create pertubations in space-time. As such, when the effect of gravity gets really low, at long distances, background SR should create space-time noise that will make the affect of weak/distant gravity become indeterminant.     The current understanding is that the core of older stars is composed of iron since this is the final exothermic atom to form and is heavier than all the lighter atoms. This has a conceptual problem that needs to be investigated. It has to do with the definition of density, with is mass/volume. At the temperatures of the core, will the iron be totally ionized? If it still retains even one electron in a stable orbital configuration its volume will increase, thereby lowering its density by many orders of magnitude.     During a recent lecture, my professor discussed the incident during which the astronauts aboard the Atlantis space shuttle reported seeing strange symbols in the haze and storm clouds that prevented them from landing for nearly three days. After the lecture, I took copies of the images, reversed the colors & discovered something amazing! The shapes of the images nearly precisely resemble shapes found in Baphomet lore.

    Ok, so I guess I'm stupid because I had always thought those beautiful, awesome pictures of nebulas and such were actual colors. Now I'm learning that much of this color is added to distinguish the various ingredients - like hydrogen and sulfur. So, now I'm wondering, what do these things really look like to us? If I'm traveling in the starship enterprise and happen upon the Eagle Nebula, what would it look like to me?

    Hi everyone, I was reading about a new exoplanet that has been discovered by the Transatlantic Exoplanet Survey, http://www.unregisterednews.com/content/view/198/51. Does anyone have any idea about how such a huge planet could form so close to a star? It completes one orbit in 3 1/2 days! What kind of a star is GSC02620-00648, anyone know how this might affect planet formation?

    As I look here, I notice the first criteria for planethood was that it must orbit the Sun directly. Does that mean that all objects outside our solar system, which, technically, do not orbit the Sun, are automatically not planets? Just goes to show how non-credible Wikipedia is.

    The other day my Astronomy teacher made a very valid point in his lecture. He pointed out how big the world is compared to Humans, and vast of a wide range it is. And less than .05 percent of the population get to see the whole world. He then talked about how small the earth is compared to our galaxy, after all we can only reach the moon.   18. This is the way I understand new growth of the universe. Matter congregates into dense enough patches that they start reacting together until it gets dense enough to start a fusion process. However, this doesn't seem to make sense out on the fringe, since logically, the fringe should be the least filled with matter. Since matter should be so sparse out on the fringes, then the chances of matter congregating in dense enough patches out on the fringe in order to promote star building should be infinitely small. What is the explanation of this paradox? Unless it is dark matter that accumulates, rendering the Big Bang Theory a myth, or at least as we know it.

  21. Do we know of any solar systems that have planets which orbit in opposite directions but maintain the same plane? Any solar systems with planets orbiting in different planes? Do we know of any stars orbiting a galactic core in the opposite direction as the majority of stars? Do we know of any planets with moon systems where any of those moons orbit in opposite directions to each other, or in different planes? Thanks for any help on this.

  22. 1. Where is the sun in its ecliptic when it is the hottest period in the northen hemisphere? 2. Take a look at the picture I upoloaded. Why is the time that the sun is at the meridian again 12:30 rather at at noon? How do you explain the wave shape of the curve?
