  1. So the question is horribly vague and we were told to, by any means, figure it out. I'm begging all of you, to put me out of my misery here. --- A ball is thrown up into the air at an upward velocity of 25m/s, consequently, a ball is thrown down towards the ground from a building 15 meters high. At what point do the two balls meet, and (I'm assuming here) at what hieght? --- Again, no details were given in reference to the force thrown, or displacement. Say the ball dropped from the building has an initial velocity of 0m/s to make things a bit easier. And say we don't take into consideration how tall the person throwing the ball is. That it is, myster…

I have two ambiguous questions that I could not understand from my worksheet other day in physics class. I was wondering if my answers were right so please help me. (I do not remember exact wording) 1. I'm traveling south with my boat 3 m/s relative to the river. The river's flowing east 2 m/s relative to the shore. Then my vector relative to the shore will a) slightly decrease b) slightly increase c) no change I put B because I thought that, "Hey, this sounds like Pythagorean Relationship" but I'm not sure. 2. When adding vectors, the length and direction of each vector must be a) similar to the that of resultant vector b) not changed c) rever…

New to the forums. Any help anyone can give would be great. Thanks The enzyme carbonic anhydrase is found in erythrocytes, and has a molecular mass of approximately 30000 Da. The hydration reaction catalyzed by this enzyme is reversible, and plays a role in the transport of CO2 from the tissues to the lungs. H2O + CO2 <-> H2CO3 If 10 micrograms of pure enzyme catalyzes the hydration of 0.30 g of Co2 in 1 minute, at 37 degrees Celsius, under optimal conditions, what is the turnover number (kcat) for carbonic anhydrase?

Hi everyone, the math prob is: Thw world's fastest roller coster is at six flags magic mountain. At the start, riders are shot forward and then up a tower. Then they begin the backward decent. The cars reach a speed of 160 KM/Hr in 7 seconds during the desent. From a point 100 meters from a foot of tower, the angle of elivation of the top of the tower is 52'(degrees) find the height of the tower to the nearest meter. I dont know what formula should i use to solve the prob, can anyone please help me with that. Thanx, Uzair

Let C be the closed curve that goes along straight lines from (0,0,0) to (1,0,1) to (1,1,1) to (0,1,0) and back to (0,0,0). Let F be the vector field [tex]F = (x^2 + y^2 + z^2) i + (xy + xz + yz) j + (x + y + z)k. Find \int F \cdot dr[/tex] By Stokes Theorem, I know that I can transform this into a curl (instructions say don't evaluate the line integral directly). So I know I get a form of square that goes CCW. Projected on the xz-plane, it is simply a square (but the y-coordinate of the right end is 1). I think the plane is described by x = z, since there is no dependence on y. So x-z = 0 Anyways, I take the curl of F to get [tex]F \cdot dr = (1-x-y)…

I understand how we see black and white. It has to do with the on/off functions on the bi-polar retinal cells. But how do we see gray. This isnt really a homework question, but a thought question that was given to us my our professor. I am assuming it has to do with the fact that the on bipolar is not ALWAYS on and the off and not ALWAYS off, so sometime there will be two off or two on. let me know if im correct or close, or totally off. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for the help in advance Alex

Google's been giving me some pretty vague results on this subject.... I have to write a report on one the the elements (for me, lithium), and I decided I'd do a little extra and have a little section on plasma. However, we've never covered it, so I don't really know much about it. Does a gas become a plasma when an electrical current passes through it, or at a certain temperature? Both? Are all the electron shells stripped of electrons, or just some? At what point does lithium become a ionized/recombine? Is that even possible? Thanks a lot. =) PS- I'm talking specifically about 7^Li, but 6^Li is stable so I guess that could work for an answer. …

Im working on a lab right now where we are comparing the NO2 anion, NO2 cation and NO2 neutral. We have been asked to draw Lewis Structures for all three and the anion and cation are no problem but the neutral molecule no matter how hard I try there is no where to really fit the last electron, not nicely anyways.I would really appreciate being pointed in the right direction Thank you.

Hello, I'm charlie and I need help with a physics graph. The graph's axes are average time and average acceleration. there are oly two points on the graph. After the average time .7 seconds the average acceleration is 6.13 m/s squared. Then after 1.36 seconds, the average accel. is negative 5.79m/s squared. The thing I need help with is that I don't know how many quadrants this graph will take or if it goes into the negatives. Lastly, It would be informative if someone could tell me what a change in average accel. is called Thanks in advance:D please:confused:

Okay, I'm a 10th grade student in biology honors and need a science fair idea. It has to be something measurable, not just like a research paper, I have a few ideas but they are boring. I really want to do something with animals, but it cant be like injecting them with any thing, more like behavior. And it is okay that we use animals in our schools rules. If you guys have any ideas even just like a question that could be answerd, insperation if you will, please please post, even if you dont think it is any good I may have never herd of doing it before. Thanks a bundle.
