Hello there, i have two annoying problems with my system. My system is a: P3, 750 256 DDR Matrox G400 graphics card (up to date drivers) Direct X 9b and im running windows xp 1st problem, i have two hard drives...my primary master (a 40gig) isnt detected in the boot proceedure, yet my secondary master (a 10 gig) is. When windows starts it only detects the primary and not the secondary...this alone confuses me as the boot proceedure detects the opposite. 2nd problem, when ever i try to run games my system will randomly restart or exit the game. Hi, I am making web page in dreamweaver. I placed animation (swf file) on the page, i played it by pressing the play button in properties, everything worked fine, but when i tried to browse it in iexplorer, the place where i placed the animation was empty. Why that happened and how can i correct it. From Mab.

Does anyone here have SP2? Windows Automatic Update downloaded it, but I don't want to install it since I hear all of these stories about how it will stop programs from working and all of that. So if you have it, what did it do?

Does anyone know how a seach engine work - ie google, is it done by searching ips and retreiving their host names, then search the meta tag and put them in sections?

Every time I load MSN messenger i get an error message from NIS [norton internet security] professional. i thought it might be random, might be chance, might be different people/machines, but it isnt, (screen shot below) because every time it happens it is coming from the same IP address, so it must be from the same machine. does anyone know who/what it is and how i could stop this?

I have an USB/Firewire external HD, how can I make it bootable? and Install Windows in? because I cant find an option in BIOS to boot from the external HD..... Any body can help? Albert

Hi, I want to update my security on my computer, but I really have no idea about what to do, and what I might need. So Im coming to the people in the know Im running Windows XP, with Norton Internet Security (up-to-date with automatic updates, etc etc). Is that good enough? Should I install anything else? Microprocessors have millions of transistors that in essence are the realisation of logic gates....... In practice what logic gates do you make on a a microprocessor ? Do you make the 3 basic ones AND,OR and NOT ? Or do you make everything using NAND ? or using NOR ? Secondly, can a 2 bit XOR gate be realised using a single transistor ?

I want to make a volume control that uses input from my usb keypad only. I cannot find out how to access the windows volume through VB, much less the bass level etc. Second... any way to isolate the input from the keypad which, as it is, exactly emulates the keyboard keypad? If not, w/o actually writing new drivers for it, oh well... Reading the joystick input would be nifty too. I've just been searching the net for hours now and cannot find a blooming simple volume control I can disect - they have so many useless features I can't understand.

Does anybody know where windows stores wallpaper settings, i've tried looking in the registry and changing every single likely settings but the wallpaper just doesn't change.
