Does any one know were the growth gene is located in our body?

There is a gene to controll how tall we are correct?

Hormones are turned on by genes correct? Well, just wondering if i modify the gene for growth , could i make my self taller or not?

Im sure you can because people have differant genes for their growth because not everyone is the same hieght correct?

So, just tell me the location of the genes or are genes located in differant areas or are they in same location as everyones?

Thanks.

No such thing as a "growth gene". Genetics and biology does not work in this way.

Like you said, there is no "growth gene" as human growth (both weight and height) are controlled by a variety of genes and environmental cues. There is a gene; however that when mutated, can lead to excess uncontrolled growth. That gene is codes for the protein for growth hormone. However, its levels are controlled by various other proteins in the body and it is not as simple as modifying the gene. Mutations could occur in the gene itself, in the promoter for the gene, in the suppressor of the gene, in non-coding regions of the gene, in proteins that interact with the gene or in signalling pathways for the protein (or in any other part of the gene) so it is not as simple and changing the gene to get taller. The changes made could have unintended consequences such as stunting of growth or development of cancer.

All of this is not even considering the environmental cues that affect height. Things like nourishment, exercise, socio-economic status or history of medication. As said by others before me, no you cannot just change your growth gene because there isn't just one growth gene and even if you targeted one of the growth genes, you would need to be able to change it in every single cell in your body (of which you have approximately 100 trillion). Unfortunately, the only thing you can do to affect your height is eat properly when you're young or wear shoes with big heels...

There are many hormones involved with human growth. Nobody should talk in terms of single binary traits for multigenic quantitative traits.

Well there is HGH though unless you are actually suffering a medical condition there is no good reason you should use it. Better to be at ease with your appearance or you'll always have some issue that you'll be wanting to fix.

This sounds like the beginning of a senseless lab accident. The military will have to destroy you with tactical nukes because you're threatening the capital. It's not worth it, I've seen this a dozen times in the theater.

Besides, you have to stop thinking so selfishly. We NEED you to be as tall as you are. There are enough taller people for the things we need taller people for. Think about your community, your neighbors, family, and friends. We all need people of your height.

Think of the children. They need people to look up to who aren't scary tall. Biologically speaking, you're in a very unique position to influence the development and prosperity of your entire social group.

Being unhappy with your height makes you slouch more. Being proud adds at least a couple centimeters.

growth gene is the gene which determines the speed of of our getting old ..

During the telophase (last phase) of cell devision , the daughter cell gets a minor defect in the chromosomes due to this minor change "Growth" occur
