Ahem, anyway, I think those buttons have to go. I could design some if you like. Only take a few days.

 

You know, the ones for reply, edit etc. They just don't fit. Everything else is peachy, but the buttons are an eyesore.

They just aren't as hard edge as the rest of the site. The buttons themselves are fine alone, but don't fit with the decore.

well i spose i've got used to it... at the same time if you are offering to design a new one it shouldn't be that hard, you just edit the image hosted at http://www.scienceforums.net/forums/images/buttons/reply.gif so Blike/Sayo should agree... make one and put a poll up asking: "which is better? current (see above) or new (see attached imaged)" and see what happens at the polls.

The small ones might be too big, and would be a pain to change b/c I hate dealing with the primitive gif with its bloody single transparency color stuff.

Yeah, I spose its a bit more modern and it should match everything... I suggest a poll though, and it can be linked to the homepage and stuff so everyone will see it.

Try the New Topic button and so on... I think they definitely look better than the default style.

One suggestion: In the Quote button, don't have it in quotation marks... just leave it by itself. The quotation marks are kind of silly.

"ye" is actually a different way of writing "the".

 

"Th" was symbolised by a character that is indistinguishable from the modern "y".

With the edit and scissors that just reminds me too much of cut feature in windows, but then I don't have a better idea, just thought I'd say it anyway!

I also think that along with new buttons, it would be nice if the style could be tweaked a bit. The generic one gets kind of boring after a while, and I think it would be nice if you tweaked it a bit to make it nicer.
