10.00 mL aliquot of a triprotic acid is reacted with 27.42 mL 0.168M KOH solution. Determine the molar mass of the acid.

I'm not sure how can I find the mass of the acid, because I don't see anything mass-related to the acid. And also, does the "aliquot" affect anything?

Small question in order to help you: what's the meaning of "0.168M"?

  • 1 month later...

Given:

Vacid = 0,01 L

VKOH = 0,02742 L

cKOH = 0,168 M = 0,168 moles/L

Asked: Macid = [math]\frac{m_{acid}}{n_{acid}}[/math]

Conclusion: too few information given :)

I don't think there is no enough info. If the acid reacts with the base completely then there moles must be equal.

Which is .068*27.42== the mole of the acid ,then you can proceed.

Why do you think there's enough information when three people have pointed out that there isn't?

If you are sure there's enough information, why not just answer the question?

That would prove the point.

John Cuthber are you challenging me. I was only pointing out my idea. you could agree or disagree on the point.

So, what do you think?

Sorry my bad I was expecting the formula of the triprotic acid :)

Which triprotic acids did you have at school?
