MajinVegeta
Are there any jobs (that have a good pay) in the field of physics? I plan on getting a double PhD in theoretical physics and computer or electrical engineering. Would these degrees be profitable?

blike
Another option is to teach. After 10 years or so at an institution your salary can become quite nice.

NSX
Well; it'll be hard at first. Just work hard. Gain recognition in the field of Physics, ie. give presentations, talks, etc. Then, people will start paying you to attend their conferences or give presentations, whether they be Physics or Non-physics. Skye
Take a look in the back of some science mags, alot of them have a jobs section. This will give you an idea of what you will be paid, and what areas actually have regular vacancies.

What exactly is private research? $ sounds tempting. But will it be profitable in the future (say 10, 13 + years)?
