Hello all.

I am studying a BSc Hons Degree in Animal Science & Management and am required to do a Dissertation on a topic of my choice.

The topic I have decided to base my study on is Anthrozoology.

My Dissertation studies the link between Anthropomorphism (associating human characteristics/emotions to animals) and the way we treat our pets.

 

To prove this I have produced a short survey which I would be grateful if any MALE candidates could fill out. All submissions are anonymous. (Link Below)

The reason for Males is due to my current statistics showing: 84% Female and only 16% Male.

Seems as if there is no point taking the survey if you don't own a dog or cat.

I'm not sure the Anthropomorphism was of great interest to me, but I'm now really wondering how many males are buying costumes to dress up their cat or dog.

I answered that one strongly agree, although I don't tell my pet problems the statement is completely correct.

Anyway about anthropomorphism, mammals do have emotions, they're not human emotions, but they are emotions.

 

I wonder if cats felinemorphise and dogs caninemorphise.

I don't know... mine has a droopy looking stare that makes me wonder. He just might be judging me but doesn't care enough to say so.

 

Sure animals have emotions. I had a dalmation as a kid that was digging a hole out in the front yard. I came around the house and she turned to greet me when she tripped in the hole she had just dug. She sat down abruptly and it was the first time I had seen an animal actually look embarrassed.
