I am very inexperienced with irc, I got mirc but it will expire soon. Are their any good free alternatives?

Yes, someone forgot to renew the domain name for blackcobalt.net so we had to establish a temporary domain until it's sorted.

Oh.....no wonder I couldn't get through....that was getting anoying

Well, if someone wants to show me how to set up an irc server with GoDaddy, I have a domain good till the end of the year at least.

Domains that work, and should continue to work for all time:

 

irc.apocalypse.me.uk (my own domain that I will continue to change when the server IP changes)

irc.oppresses.us (should be considered the main one I think, although I'm yet to talk to any of the rest of the network staff)

You can also connect to cube.xyloid.org if you have further problems.
