Unfortunately many of them are subscription-based, but in most fields there are many journals that can be accessed without spending money. Ultimately though I would say PubMed is the gold standard for biology and medicine related journal articles: PubMed Central If you do not have experience reading technical journals then they can be a real handful as they assume a certain level of understanding and knowledge, i.e. to the level that the authors are. Livingstone Posted August 18, 2008 Share Posted August 18, 2008 I use http://www.scirus.com most of the time as search engine, filter the results to journal only and it usually comes up with a goog results. Otherwise our university is subscribed through a bunch of journals through the athensams.co.uk but you could also pull up some relevant *NEW* stuff from sciencedirect.com has some free ones too Blackwell-synergy PubMed group etc! Also people talk alot about not using google, but youll get some good leads with google aswell if you phrase your sentences properly as though you were writing a paper yourself!
