Anthropic limited by U.S. Government

Featured Replies

Being the US government, one might question whether this is actually for national security or just trying to skew competition to reward friends and/or punish enemies

I don’t know. The government did the same with cryptography. But this thing can either secure you system or break it. I first heard of it on Security Now with Steve Gibson.

I’ve been told by a user that this was released because the authors wanted to force regulation on Ai. Remember a couple months ago Anthropic didn’t want there models used for war purposes. That is rumor though.

They shutdown the Mythos class model 3 days after it was released with their stated reason being bc it did stuff that other non-Mythos class models have already been doing for several months.

Strikes me more as a precedent setting power play to accumulate additional authority and control than as an attempt to protect people. Aka a lie and yet another distraction
