I want to make a reagent with cupric chloride. I watched a video showing placing copper in a jar, then adding hydrochloric acid and hydrogen peroxide.

After stirring he ended up with a green solution, however my recipe says I need 30 grams of cupric chloride, so how do I get a solid (powder) rather than a liquid

Boil it until all water is gone. Or put it in a ball and wait some day until the water is vaporized  slowly. Result you would get nice crystalls of copper chloride

You would need to put it somewhere warm.
Copper chloride is hygroscopic.
