Are the topic ratings conveyed to authors reputation ?

Perhaps could be convenient to consider clever topics brought to the table where only responders are  'recognized'.

Seen several topics where the original poster is not 'compensated'  :unsure:   What is the democratic way ?  A poll ?

Forum software not firmware and yeah I imagine that it could count the number of stars for topics by a user with a specific username with a database query.
