I'm no philosopher...nor am I a scientist...I actually see philosophy as a foundation corner stone for science, reflections on how we live, and sometimes useless musings........ Perhaps some Philosophers of late are somewhat disgruntled and annoyed at the apparent recent "put downs" of Philosophy by people such as Lawrence Krauss. I couldn't agree more with what you have said. Certainly this paper and its findings add more certainty that life elsewhere is inevitable. I like your last paragraph...Panspermia correct? Something that I also find as more likely then not. All I could add is the possibility that Abiogenesis may have started many times in many places.
