Not if you like cheese. 😉
  2. But the point is, we can't predict progress, even scientifically; all we can do is take a best guess, at what might happen tomorrow. Progress is a spontaneous event, and all history seems to provide is the odds-on favorites. What's really strange, is how often the house wins; it's like we never learn... 🙄
  3. The goal is to make it understandable, therefore knowledge tree is the wrong metaphor to use, unless you're an arborist mid-lecture...

Without looking, I'm sure there are many studies that show this to be false, stress, I think, is bad for growth. But if we can get back to the ethical argument, this isn't in the political forum, Veganism is an absolute position... 😉 From this position, you commit murder, if you humanely transport a house spider, outside...
  5. Questions are really easy to recognise, they have have one of these ? at the end. You're more than welcome to say my question's are meaningless, with an appropriate explanation of the reason. But just deciding not to answer, for whatever reason, is not a recognised method of a meaningful discussion, it's kinda rule one in the philosophical lexicon, it's certainly nothing new (consider this my last attempt to steer you towards the actual topic). 🙄🙏🤞😣
  6. I can't think of anything meaningful to say, either...

Seems to me that we're talking past each other, we both agree that factory farm's can be cruel and a well treated animal is happy. It also seems to me that the scale of the farm isn't a barrier to kindness. I get the vegan position, in terms of a protest, 'Malcom X' like, in order to restore a ballance; but the fundamental arguments don't work as an absolute. What would a vegan do to a million mice that are eating all their food?
  8. lol +1 So many paths, but only one place to find.
  9. False. You don't understand. Thats fine, but we get further if you can point out the problems. As below. You seem very sure the comprehension problem is mine. You have not given reason why that must so. Why the definitions I have provided would conflict with reality. This is a discussion, traditionally a question (from me) is a prompt for further explanaition (from you), a tradition you resolutely refuse to follow. Banging my head against a brick wall, is very far away from a new form of philosophy, unless I actually want to see a pink (other colour's are available 😉) unicorn... 🙄 Which I don't, again... 😣
  10. I bet you don't understand the irony here; imagine if your maimonides, you devoutly spend every waking moment, reading and learning and collating all that knowledge into a meaningful way to be a grown up and then some kid just spouts the latest troupe from the playground, to make himself look big in front of his mates; that kids going to get a thick ear and the rest of the lesson sat in the corner, with a certain hat on. IOW, grow up... 🙄
  11. It can only be what it is... 🙂
  12. Maybe you should read about Maimonides before we explore 'the enlightenment'.
  13. It will be what it is... 😉

Yet, strangely, all of my free range duck's, voluntarily, line up at dusk to be re-imprisoned; maybe they feel safer... 😉
  15. If I understood what? You haven't explianed anything, so far. And how does two word's, that you seem unable to comprehend properly, expose bias in any meaningful way?

Factory farm's are abysmal and should be properly regulated, but it's the only argument that vegans actually have. A well husbanded animal, arguably lives a much better life and death than it's wild brethren, and I'm happy to support that animal;bc I fookin love cheese...
  17. OK, so you think that tapping into this AI epoch means that we can understand the reality of being a human better than actually being a human??? That's what the machines want you to think... 🙄 Philosophy is designed to strip away bias, not to find an algorithm that reinforces them.

Indeed, like the common vegan argument; that bc of factory farm's, all animal product's are tainted bc of the moral imperative to not cause suffering. I get that, but a more fundamental moral question must be, does a well husbanded animal live a better life than his wild brethren? If so, then we sould all eat freelance and be thankfull for the cheese...
  19. If we both agree that said product is worth said price, then value is an objective truth between us;supermarket's upsize this phenomena, especially when they discount the product because of the sell by date; and thus it caters to every layer of imagined wealth over value. You seem to have strayed from the topic at hand: How does any of this, constitute or facilitate a new way of thinking?
  20. In answer to the topic title, we can't help it; if science work's, something's will advance, it's an evolutionary imperative.
  21. Well, a computer is an object which, unless subject to some sort of linguistically twisted reasoning, should be a clue. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but this is seems like utter bollox. This for instance,"is Recognition, of a value given. It can't be either positive or negative. It can't exist.", I've already explained how fair exchange for both parties (work's). the subjective bit, and the value is the objective bit, agreed by both parties.
  22. It depends, how many bears did you drink???
  23. Indeed, once they painted themselves into a corner, they thought outside of the box... Yes, when in a pub fight possibility, shout "hold me back" and hope to fuck that your mates aren't so pissed that they just ignore you, and settle down for the nights entertainment... 😉
  24. Hmmm, I strongly disagree with something I don't understand, "mind the gap"???
