  1. how you view a singularity depends a lot on whether you view space and time as discrete or continuous.
  2. bear in mind that black holes are defined by their event horizons rather than by singularities.
  3. titans were very powerful but the greeks we very clear that they were not gods. eventually they were defeated by the gods. so great power alone is not sufficient.
  4. fields are fundamental. nobody knows what they are 'made of'. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Field_%28physics%29 In physics, a field is a physical quantity associated to each point of spacetime.[1] A field can be classified as a scalar field, a vector field, a spinor field, or a tensor field according to whether the value of the field at each point is a scalar, a vector, a spinor (e.g., a Dirac electron) or, more generally, a tensor, respectively. For example, the Newtonian gravitational field is a vector field: specifying its value at a point in spacetime requires three numbers, the components of the gravitational field vector at that point. Moreover, within each category (scalar, vector, tensor), a field can be either a classical field or a quantum field, depending on whether it is characterized by numbers or quantum operators respectively. A field may be thought of as extending throughout the whole of space. In practice, the strength of every known field has been found to diminish to the point of being undetectable. For instance, in Newton's theory of gravity, the gravitational field strength is inversely proportional to the square of the distance from the gravitating object. Therefore the Earth's gravitational field quickly becomes undetectable (on cosmic scales). Defining the field as "numbers in space" shouldn't detract from the idea that it has physical reality. “It occupies space. It contains energy. Its presence eliminates a true vacuum.”[2] The vacuum is free of matter, but not free of field. The field creates a "condition in space"”[
  5. ah, so thats the misunderstanding. field lines are not 'made of photons'.
  6. teh energy is in the field the field line form loops and therefore dont end at charges. its not that complicated. and I've already answered the op
  7. the field lines in a photon form loops. divergence is zero (there is no charge) curl is nonzero
  8. in some languages a things IS what it does.
  9. our innate desires are neither rational nor irrational. they just are. its how you balance those desires that is either rational or irrational.
  10. a lot of info goes straight from input to output and bypasses the central processor completely.
  11. the brain is a fractal pyramid. it divides into 3 parts (midbrain, cerebellum, and cerebral cortex) each of which divides into 3 parts (input, output, and processor) each of which likewise divides into 3 parts and so on and so on. this probably continues right down to neurons. the cerebellum is concerned with 'how' to do what we do. the cerebral cortex is concerned with 'what' to do. the midbrain is concerned with 'why' we do what we do.
  12. machines know 'how' to do things but dont know 'what' they are doing. animals know 'what' they are doing but dont know 'why' they do them human beings know 'how', 'what', and 'why' they do things. computers today only know 'how' to do things but dont know 'what' they are doing to know 'what' they are doing they need 'logic programming'. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Logic_programming http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prolog awareness is simply knowing 'what' you are doing self-awareness is simply awareness of awareness

  15. the first polymers formed by adding subunits to the ends. this molecule could grow (like fire) but wasnt alive. at some point nature selected for teh ability to reproduce along the sides of the molecule like rna. (subunits that couldnt attack along the sides disappeared) this molecule was then alive.
  16. even in the interior of the sun iron isnt completely ionized. once the core cools and becomes a white dwarf then it no doubt is solid. fusion in the interior causes the core to puff up thereby reducing the pressure and shutting off the fusion. its a self correcting process. as a result the core is probably not very solid
  17. consciousness is just awareness of awareness 'awareness' is just knowing 'what' you are doing computers know 'how' to do things but dont know 'what' they are doing (in theory 'logic programming' would allow a computer to know 'what' it is doing)
  18. you can also be confined to a lower dimensional brane
  19. thats clifford algebra http://geocalc.clas.asu.edu/
  20. and the size is around teh planck length Significance of the Planck Length / Rest mass / Gravitational field energy
  21. everything didnt come from nothing. everything came from everything. just because there was a beginning doesnt mean there was a time before that when there was nothing. there cant be a 'before' the beginning. asking what came before the beginning is like asking whats north of the north pole
